DomStLeger
That is amazing news! I take it that means an adventure game sold well enough in europe alone to warrent a sequel? Or was it all thanks to Germany? Will Runaway 2 reach english speaking regions before Runaway?
Tanukitsune
Weird, does a german company have the rights for a sequel? Because I live in Spain and the only adventure sequel in production here now is for the 3 skulls of Totlec (Im not sure I wrote it right)... I imagine it means this German company wants to foot the development costs. Gotta hand it to them, they're really ahead of the game. Ear. Will Runaway 2 reach english speaking regions before Runaway? AC | Murray
Originally posted by Tanukitsune Weird, does a german company have the rights for a sequel? No. dtp (german publisher of Runaway) is some kind of...big mama for Pendulo Studios. At least they were the first publisher worldwide who picked up the game and decided to release it - I guess otherwise Pendulo would have got into big (financial) trouble. And now dtp are the first who announce the sequel..
ragou
Why Runaway 2? Couldn't they make an original title instead? I'm getting sick of all those sequels. But I guess we should be happy with the little we get. btw, there is a review of Runaway (the first game that is ) on Gamesdomain.
Curt
I'll give thanks for any new adventure game so long as it's good, sequel or not. Better a good sequel than a crap new idea.
Marek
Traditionally Germany has been the country where most copies of adventure games are sold. I wouldn't be surprised if this is also true for Runaway.

Wakane
Yeah! I liked the first one. Hopefully the sequel even better. And no, don't go 3D (we have broken Sword 3 for that). I still think one of the charms of Runaway is because of the good quality of 2D graphics in it.
Wakane
Originally posted by RemiO But... but... I thought adventure games were dead. Who says Runaway 2 is gonna be an adventure game? It's gonna be a hybrid between an RTS & 3D Shooter (with RPG elements in it) :)

This is: * Take Golf Club & String * Bend Golf Club into shape of tennis racket * Use string on racket * Take apple * Place apple in vat of ACME Super Springy Rubber Stuff * Use makeshift racket with rubber apple
Marek
And let's not forget the final step: * Put on a fake moustache made out of cat hair just for giggles. By the way, I can say with almost complete confidence that that Runaway 2 will be in 2D.
