So, in the light of this new announcement, any chance of @Jakeand @Marius (and Dom?) playing the rest of the MI games in the leadup to the new game? Seems like there’s no better time to do it now! *hint* We could also do with a new Mojo podcast discussing the announcement at some point!

On Tales Steve said he thought Ryan Jones’ rendition of Guybrush was complimentary to how he saw the character at the time, and Steve and Ryan worked together on The Devil’s Playhouse. Of course Steve, Ron, and Dave have worked together before too believe it or not, so who knows! I’d love to see a Steve box, but I’d also love to see what Rex Crowle would do!

These would all be great, but we'll probably have to wait until at least launch to get some clarifications. In the meantime I'm in the market for some wild, groundless speculation! :P

Both of those things would be awesome! I'm also hoping Mojo might be able to nab an interview or two with the key people involved with Return and find out how this all came together and also clarify some of the finer details (Canon, for example).

I accidentally played yesterday's Mojole twice - the second time thinking it was today's Wordle. Mojole rolls over at midnight Icelandic time because Remi is such a fan of Björk. I was excited to see that Wordle was heading for the exact same answer as Mojole before the penny dropped. It still took me 5 attempts to get there as well. Anyway. So wait… if Ron has been working on this for two years, does that mean he was working on Return while he did this?

I'm hoping that we see largo as well but for only a short scene before lechuck puts a curse on him that turns him into Dinghy Dog forever... or maybe the grumpy rat guy you shoot a pie at 😀

I was never under the impression that the holdup was Lucasfilm's willingness to let Ron work on a Monkey Island game. Ron has repeatedly stated that his condition for making one was outright owning the IP, which strikes me as a virtual impossibility. If his position changed, and it becomes a matter of getting permission from Disney to use the property, then it's a whole other formula of probability.

Ron seems to be generally uninterested in feeding people's hype though. This is just standard practice for him. I highly doubt that any new Monkey Island game would be his 3rd game, it's gonna be 6, which personally I'd be thrilled about cause Tales left a lot of interesting character stuff to pick up in another game. I totally get wanting Ron's story told though, it'd be wonderful for him after all these years. I just think it's highly unlikely that either Disney sold the rights or Ron accepted working with them.
