  1. Don't worry, you'll be feeling impatient for more news in no time!
  2. I'm all about the puzzles, but if you don't like puzzles and love characters, atmosphere and story, you should check out Unavowed. It's excellent! http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/games/unavowed/
  3. Same. Whatever my initial reactions were to the artwork, I just want Ron and Dave (and everyone else in the team) to give us the game they want to make.
  4. I was wondering recently: What if LucasArts had modern scanning tools in 1991? The original Same pixel and colour depth limitations using Peter Chan's original drawing Answer: Barely any difference at all 😆 However if they had double the resolution to play with, it could have looked like this (yes this is still 256 colours)
  5. Edit: Actually, moved it to its own thread..,
  6. Totally agree that EMFI did a lot of things right. (It fixed Elaine's voice for one thing.) I also remember really enjoying it when it came out. I don't think it deserves the reputation it's got. It's funny, well made, and has some great puzzles. I should play it again really. I do think when I step back and examine more critically that it that it got some things wrong for a Monkey Island game. I think Kestrel summed up the differences in tone perfectly regarding the anachronisms, for example. The world just got a bit too broad for my tastes. And I was bored stupid by Monkey Kombat. But I'm really glad that someone loves EMFI. Like I said, I do think it got a lot of things right. And Ron and Dave have made it clear that they're trying to be respectful to all the sequels, so I don't think you've got anything to worry about. (Just don't expect Herman to be Elaine's grandfather )
  7. So we're finally going to be able to hear a fully voiced rendition of 10,000 bottles of beer on the wall! This is such great news because it makes it clear that this is a huge and proper Monkey Island game. Not just a retro throwback. This is going to be epic! What were the line count for all the other games? Does anyone know?
  8. But you can't win the spit contest if you don't create the green drink? Edit: Oops. I see what you mean now.
  9. That is insane... of course there's no sparkles on the Amiga version. So what happens there?
  10. I think the point is that you can burn it to light the canon?
  11. Nice find. I swear I put something important into the fire on my old Amiga playthrough and got stuck... but I was probably just not understanding what I was doing. (I had an earlier save thankfully.)
  12. I think SOMI's Melee shares a lot of the same colour palette with Scabb. Especially Captain Dread's dock. That luscious moonlit/candlelit world. There's a real warmth there which I don't see in Crowle's Melee. Again, maybe once I play the game that will all make sense. Maybe it's all very deliberate and part of a wider look for the game that I will appreciate more when I get my hands on it. But until then, all I can do is obsess!
  13. Not to pile on Rex, who has certainly had far too much criticism and undeserved ire. And whose artwork is gorgeous in Knights and Bikes and who hasn't really had a chance to show off what his ReMI work looks like in situ. But one of the things I reacted badly to was his Melee is the colour palette. In theory, the only source of light at night in these piratical times would be fire or moonlight (unless it's the Hook Isle sign, natch). That's why everything in the town is blue and orange in the original game. There's such an odd array of oranges of light source colours that it throws me: From white, through to green, to luminous yellow to pale orange. I'm sure I won't actually care when I'm playing the game, but you happened to mention the palette, and right now all I have to obsess about are these tiny selection of images! Bah! Please give us more soon!
  14. Great video. Didn't mean to watch the whole thing but it sucked me right in! Also surprised that ScummVM is what they use given how non-standard it can be. But as long as it runs the same across everyone's machines, then I don't suppose it matters. Fascinating watch.
  15. Hmm. I think your memory is shot. (I wonder if you're thinking of Curse? Can't you return to the close up of where you get the Floating Dutchman (I forget his name -- my memory is shot, too) and he's not there?)
  16. Totally agree. I think what's amazing is that a modern game using these paintings would still look beautiful today. Beauty doesn't date.
  17. I think the original paintings look more beautiful than the ones in the final game. And better than the ones used in the SE. Even if they needed to add some details to reach 4K (which seemed to be their target) they could have used the original paintings as more of a guide.
  18. The original high quality version is here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/730309245/the-grail-diary-last-crusade-inspired £150! The quest for the perfect Grail Diary Replica is a common one A lot of prop enthusiasts make them apparently. Here's that guy from Mythbusters talking about the one he made for himself after a break up... (He's not on coke, he has allergies.)
  19. Come back and tell us what you think when you're done!
  20. Wow. I'm amazed they got anything at all! Although it was clearly a scam in the sense that they didn't match the images (which were stolen from another site), they did receive a facsimile of the dairy. Bonkers. It's actually better than I would have expected!
  21. These fan renditions are getting so good these days!
  22. I was just talking about the two Agents really. The other characters were more developed, I agree. But yes, I just didn’t gel with TWP, as much as I wanted to
  23. 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 4/6 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 💛💚🖤💛💚 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
