mknote Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 I found a saber move that I havn't see before. The demo I have showing it is in my map that I am working on, so it isn't that pretty. http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/bc/3fc76e7b_176f6/bc/demos/saber1.zip?bffM3x_Az1WQWa_k Could someone tell me what it is? MK
mknote Posted November 28, 2003 Author Posted November 28, 2003 It should be fixed now. It was't set as a public folder. MK
mknote Posted November 28, 2003 Author Posted November 28, 2003 http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/bc/3fc76e7b_176f6/bc/demos/saber1.dm_26?bfPq4x_AaovI7uC9 Now try it with this link. MK
Darth Kaan Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 Thanks man, got it that time. Going to watch it.
mknote Posted November 28, 2003 Author Posted November 28, 2003 I edited the post above seconds after sending it. The file in the link was empty. Just for sure, the new link is: http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/bc/3fc76e7b_176f6/bc/demos/saber1.dm_26?bfPq4x_AaovI7uC9 MK PS It's a demo.
Lathain Valtiel Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 I know that, but what map is on it? I don't have it.
Darth Kaan Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 Same here. Unless I am mistaken, we have to have the map .bsp to watch the demo.
mknote Posted November 28, 2003 Author Posted November 28, 2003 It's a map that I am still making. It's an ancient temple on Yavin 4. That was outside of it. MK [Edit] I could post screenies...
Lathain Valtiel Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 Well, we need the map to play the demo.
mknote Posted November 28, 2003 Author Posted November 28, 2003 It is a HUGE file, so I'll see if I can't make another demo... I'll post it within the hour. I am still very new to demos and posting stuff on the web. MK
mknote Posted November 28, 2003 Author Posted November 28, 2003 The swoop is untextured, and this is on a level with the game. http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/bc/3fc76e7b_176f6/bc/demos/saber2.dm_26?bfvP5x_APjwi1QPn MK
Sam Fisher Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 Erm, file cannot be displayed? Can you save it as something else? Just a thought...
mknote Posted November 29, 2003 Author Posted November 29, 2003 Arrg! Nobody tells me right. What should I do? I have tried just about everything to find this out. Help? Maybe this? MK
Tesla Posted November 29, 2003 Posted November 29, 2003 Send it Here and i'll whack it up on the FTP, and see if it works. ; )
SirYawnalot Posted November 29, 2003 Posted November 29, 2003 Just post it as a set of screenshots. Preferably a slideshow if it's short enough.

Maybe this? MK Try doing this, login to your briefcase, bring up the page that has the demo or any downloadable file. Bet it says you are signed in at this point. Highlight the link and copy it. NOW HERE IS THE TRICK, sign out of your account. Now paste the url into the address field and COPY IT TO POST HERE. My guess is you have been posting the url that you are signed in under, only another briefcaser user could see it. I made this mistake too, PS nobody will be able to play a demo unless they have the map it was originally recorded on. Can you make a demo of the move on a standard map? You could also right before playing the demo type cl_avidemo 20 in the consol. Then when you play the demo it will make 20 screenshots per sec of the demo. You could then browse the jpegs for the perfect ones that highlight the move. Don't forget to set cl_avidemo back to zero 0 when you are done.
mknote Posted November 29, 2003 Author Posted November 29, 2003 Maybe I'll get this right. Update: I don't think that worked. Yahoo is a load of garbage, because now they won't let files be shared. I paste the link to my folder, and there isn't anything in it. Great. Anyone know where I can upload it and IT WILL WORK?! MK
idontlikegeorge Posted November 29, 2003 Posted November 29, 2003 How about a description and a screenshot or two? Would that be so hard? Any harder than this train wreck of a thread?
Astrotoy7 Posted November 29, 2003 Posted November 29, 2003 Poor MK, you have just committed what is called "inadvertant, painful to watch spamming." Lets hope the admins dont catch you ! yeah, just a nice desription, like dancing instructions eg. Jaden lifts R arm, turn to R, spin, improv, flip, R kick, L kick...showtime !!! and take some screenies in your demo...easy ! MTFBWYA
