The_One
I'd say the first would have to be the original Civilization. The next game I seriously got addicted to was Transport Tycoon - I still rate that the most addictive game ever. I wasted weeks of my life on that
Joe©
, The first games I remember playing were Civ 1 and Settlers 2 (I wasn't allowed violent games - and only allowed on my pc for 30 mins a week look where its got me), but the first game I played for a long time in one day was Grim Fandango (when I was 8 ). same here, mom did'ent hold with violent games and I had very short time to play, but near as short as you. the first game I got was x-wing and I played it for an hour and a half, just flying me y-wing around in big loops looking for those near invisible tie's. mom and dad saw a problem and nipped it at the bud, I could play half an hour a day, the longer I read the longer I get to play, the conversion table on there settings, I would play my whole 1/2 in the five o'clock hour, then read 3 hours a day and play another half hour, I was 9, after that came FOCOM and well hear I am now. topshot
Dark Forces 1 never really grabbed onto me (it sort of did once I found out all the cool codes), but Dark Forces 2 bit me on the arm and didn't let go (perhaps because I had a thing for swords and force powers. Out of all of them, "Destruction" was sweet!) First computer: Windows 95.

Darth Homer
I just remembered something, it really isn't a game that hooked me into playing, but one I was absorbed with for a bit... one christmas I convinced my parents to order me Carmageddon (man that was a fun game, I loved driving to the top of buildings & then just flooring it over the edge!) My mom comes to me after it was ordered and asked me, "Did you know that game is about blowing up stuff and running over people?" My reply was, "Yes....it's called Carmageddon, what did you think it was about?" (I swear I am not making this up)

leXX
The first PC game I was seriously addicted to was Half-Life and especially the mod TFC (Team Fortress Classic). I spent 2 years of my life playing TFC virtually every night.
Sabretooth
For me, my first addiction was at Road Rash. Considered lame by many, but it's one of those classics. I later got addicted highly to the original UT. After that a lot of games came in like Midtown Madness 2, Deus Ex, Operation Flashpoint, SWAT 3 etc. but when UT2003 came out, I didn't stop playing it for months! Ah, yes. I totally loved TPM as well. I loved using a lightsaber and all that. But it changed when I bought a graphic card and started JK:JO. It rocked for me, especially the dueling which has been a classic in JO. I realised JA is released and bought it which has been my addiction till now. But this shall change. Tomorrow, my new addiction will be UT2004 which I shall buy with all of Darth Vader's glory!!!!! *Imperial March (Darth Vader's theme)*
