All I've seen is the trailer (if you want to call it that). The movie looks like it might be fun to watch, but it's not going to win any Oscars. I'm probably going to end up seeing it one way or another anyways, whether it's a good movie or not.

AvP2 is one of my favourite games, and I'm a huge fan of ALL of the Alien and Predator films (yes, including Alien 3, Resurection and Predator 2), but I have a very bad feeling that this is going to suck. I don't like the storyline at all, and the trailer didn't impress me one bit. I'd rather they made AvP3. :/

I loved the Preadtor movies(though I was upset about how the Pred dies. I must have a fancy for villians, cuz alot of villians shouldn't haved died. Damn idiots with their good triumphs over evil), and I never really got into the Alien saga.

 

From what I've heard at our local comic cave(y'know, geek central. Gotta get my D&D and Vampire books somewhere), they've actually gone through several scripts for this movie. The original was an 90+ minutes long with only 3 minutes of dialouge. They tossed it because of lack of dialouge. So? I wouldn't of minded watching 90+ minutes of Predator mopping the floor with Alien with no talking in between.

I agree with you, Groovy. Predator 2 was a worthy successor to the first movie, IMHO. Predator 2 was to Predator what Aliens was to Alien, if that makes sense.

 

I still think they were wise at the time not to make a Predator 3 straight after, though. I would have hated to see it go the way of the Alien films...

 

Anyway, I still have doubts about this AvP movie. If they had decided to set it anywhere but Earth, it might have been better - but they're digging up the whole 'pyramid' angle again, and that's a bit stupid. As a pure action flick, it might not suck...

OK, First of all Predator 2 and Alien Resurrection was both good films and AvP will not suck. If anyone hasnt seen the latest trailer for it, should be shot. As you can probally see Bishop from Aliens and Alien 3 is in the movie. From all the videos that are out right now on AvP, it looks awesome. I have been a big fan of the video game series for along time. I am happy to see them make this movie. I hope they make Alien 5 and 6 also. And about AvP's setting, what is so wrong about it? They dont only see heat you know, watch Predator 2. They can adjust their visual settings. Im all for AvP coming out in Augest. You can be certain that I will be out at the theaters opening day to see it.

heh... I sort of expect this to be a Freddy V.S. Jason type movie.

 

Although, it looks pretty cool... from the poster at least. :xp:

 

I might see it, either to laugh my ass off at the horrible plot, or be excited as I was with HellBoy.

I.... have no words. :indif: I loved Alien and Aliens but only found Predator to be tolerable and P2 to be almost unwatchable. :confused:

I cant believe it....no ones gone for the ALF option.... are many of you too young to remember ALF, or do you actually like the lil runt....

Heck, I'm 18 years old, only watched the show once or twice, and yet I still remember him. Hes cool, problem is that he wont get out of my freakin head :fist:
