Strange things

In light of your stories from the paranoia thread made, what strange things have ever happned to you? Like for example a strange story from me:

I live in a house that is said to be haunted. A long time ago two little girls died in my house. One died of crib death as a baby, and one broke her neck when she was five falling down the stairs. Well, one day when I was 6, I was playing by the steps where the little girl broke her neck, and I had the radio on and decided to go downstairs. Well, it was only me and my mom in the house at the time. I made SURE I turned off the radio because my Mom would get mad if I left it on, well I realized that I forgot a toy I was playing with upstairs, I went to get it, and the radio was on, LOUD, to a whole other radio station. My mother didn't go near the upstairs when this happened. I was freaked and ran downstairs.

When I was about 7 years old, I was going out my back door at around twighlight or just after dark to feed my rabbit about 15 meters from the house at the edge of the woods.

As I went outside and looked up, a slow moving ball of light/fire travelled from over my house, across the open area between the house and the treeline, to disappear beyond the forest. It didn't make a sound and its velocity was far too slow to be a meteor. Because it was at least as high as the tallest tree, I knew it was a large object even at 7 years of age.

That it scared my 16 year old babysitter and my younger sister told me that it wasn't normal. And it began a long fascination with UFOs.

That fascination was an unquestioning belief until 1986, when I witnessed the same sort of event again while stationed at Palmerola Airbase in Honduras. Only this time I was a little older and willing to investigate. I discovered by watching the event unfold that it was a Harrier jet. Apparently, from the right angle, its difficult to hear the engines and in the right light, its difficult to see the outline of the jet because the brightness of the engines washes it out. I asked my dad later, and he said that the Navy had been experimenting with Short/Vertical Take-off and Landing aircraft at Wallops Flight Center, which I lived next to at age 7.

Now, I'm an anthropology major and I'm fascinated with belief systems and what drives people to believe.

That is the strangest thing that I can think of at the moment ;)

Very creepy indeed!

And nice forum btw Groovs! Yeah I like this sorta thing too.

But the really, really weird thing about that little happening by the stairs, was that a long time ago, my sister had a dream a little girl named Amy or Emily, some thing like that, said she died in the house and she told my sister that my family had nothing to be afraid of, and she missed her mother.

I dunno I ride that dream off as coincedence.

Before DoomGiver made his 'Leaving" thread, now that's what scares me, because a few weeks ago, I dreamt that it would be locked by Groovy, but the post was different (but it didn't deal with anything sick). Shivered most of the next day after that.

If you look into my forums a little further, you will see that it has been a life long dream to give up everything I have, assemble a team of scientists and specialists and chase after unexplained phenomenon, and document my results in the form of some published material. I am DEAD serious about this.

Now personally, I believe that 99% of what people see, has a logical explanation. What I would do, is help to resolve the unexplained by the process of logic and science. The 1% would always keep me going, and besides that, the thrill of the chase would be a fantastic lifestyle! :)

I and my friends had gone camping. We were at a camping area, where campers would get-together at evening. So I and two of my friends got separated and we were hanging out in a place they called 'Woodland'. There were hammocks and birds and everything so we had a nice nap there. I had a short, strange dream. A woman was running. There was a bright flash from her and a face of fear on her. Behind her a sort of monster of black head followed. He seemed to have two heads, very humanlike and eyes which glowed in yellow, i think. The woman stumbled and fell and the monster-thing engulfed upon her and the dark smoke rose. Just then a ray of light broke through the monster and then the dream evaporated.

As I sat up in the hammock, I realised that there were ravens around us and my skin was a bit sore, maybe sticky. There was tree, which divided into two upwards. Another branch came out of the division and looked like some arm. There was another tree leaning away, in front of the same tree. It looked like the tree with the arm was trying to grab the other, which was trying to run away.

That incident will creep me for life.

You read me all wrong. I am the sceptic! I would be the guy at a seonce looking for the hidden cameras and microphones, I always been good at that sort of thing. I have a LONG history at not being easily fooled! I find things and exploit them. Most of what people consider as "paranormal" is sheer crapolla, however I will give them the benefit of the doubt, and look into it...only to prove that it IS in fact...crapolla....

Of COURSE there is! I never considered myself to be a pioneer in a field that is older than dirt! I only claimed that it would be a life I would like to live. This has been done, time and time again even in areas of fiction. Did you not know that at one point I was a devoted fan of the X-Files, and before that, Friday The 13th, the series, and even before that Kolchak: The Nightstalker, and even before that, A HUGE fan of The Twilight Zone!

We all know that most of this stuff is horse manure, but people like me, are drawn to the stories. See, I was always the guy who went into the "haunted houses" in Virginia Beach, and laughed at the bad acting. When I was a kid, I used to find the wires and gimmicks that made the scary things what they were. I just love this sort of thing. I don't expect to win awards, it is just something I always wanted to do, but never had the means or rescorces. I DO however have an extensive set of books on the paranormal, raging from Big Foot, to UFO's. I get a kick out of this! :D

You're right! I should limit my posting time, however I just can't seem to find any other interesting, fun websites, and somehow, I always end up back here. :(

Hey Topshot, Groovy's right, I'm here for once in my life hoping that Rythe would be on:p (he left school now I can't talk to him:()

I used to see bright lights coming from the forests behind my place, everynight it would be very blinding and there was always a big bang. One night I was listening to my radio and when the bang went off so did my radio.

The next night the same thing happend. It continued for a bout a moth, but nobody believed me, (even Rythe), that was until he saw it for himself:confused:

It may sound false and all, but I swear it really did happen.

We (Me, Dad, Mom, and a friend) went to St Peters cemetary (largest one in the city I think) for the stations of the cross on easter. Really large gathering of people and all. Anyway, on the... I think it was on the way to the 11th station, I saw something grey fly behind a tree. No, it was not a bird, it was too big to be a bird, and it had no wings, it just floated behind the tree. I went to look for a minute, but nothing was there.

It was kinda freaky, I didn't tell anyone but I saw it.

Except for foreseeing dreams and Deja-vu experiences, I have sawn UFO's... no plane could go that fast.

And at night, I see hundreds, thousands lights in the sky... Weird...

<_<

>_>

Oh, those were stars...? What are these stars you are talking about?

Yeah, and I've made somekind of a link with the nature... A few times. I've meditated on this one rock. As I live in a forest with my parents and our dog I can find many places to meditate, but this was a large rock at the yard of my school... :D

When I was a little girl, about ten years old, my mum, sister, brother and I were walking down the road to my nan's house and I saw two little girls playing outside their house in the front yard. My mum said "don't look at them, just keep on walking", so I asked "why?" and she said "just don't look at them". Being the curious little girl that I was, after we walked past them, I couldn't help but turn around at look at them just one last time, but they had completely disapeared.

Now this kids, is why you should always listen to your mom. :)

Interesting story.

Now for my story:

I was at my friend's house about 5 years ago. His house was haunted for reasons unknown. Well, his parents or sisters werent home, but we were there anyways. His room is the room that connects to the attic, so we always felt creeped out because of that. Anyways, one day, we were sitting there, talking about Star Trek (Yes, i USED to watch it) and we heard a noise. Like, walking noise. Then all of a sudden, I heard my mom calling for me outside. I was literally screaming out "MAMA!!!! MAMA!!!!" and well, she couldnt hear me, even though the window was wide open. Then, all of a sudden, we heard the rattling of chains coming from the attack. We looked at eachother, and said "3, 2 ,1" and RAN down the stairs. Thats one day Ill never forget....unless I become old and senile.

Something like this happened to me in the 7th grade. I went to a catholic school, and on Wensdays, we'd have to attend Mass every morning. Well, bored-out-of-my-mind as every Wensday, I started to look around the church. I was looking at the stain glass windows on the ceiling. When suddenly I saw this thing move outside of it. It was large, very large actually, much too large to be a bird, it kept circling around the stain glass windows. Thankfully, I wasn't losing my mind, because my friends around me saw it too, and we have NO IDEA what the hell that was to this very day.
