Guest Jed
Is your school getting involved in this? Frankly, I'm a bit scared. There IS a reason that the voting age is 18, so this election could be filled with people that are thinking "omg bush l00ks like a monk3y, i vote for him LOLZ". *shrug*
Nerd_Annhilator
Y'know... that sounds like a REALLY horrible idea!
El Sitherino
wow, I wanna see a movie featuring kids resposnes and their votes... "i'm voting for bush cuz my daddy said to or else it means I'm a queer loving liberal" "i'm voting for kerry, cuz he looks like a pony face" *giggles at the possible responses*
Jdome83
That really is a stupid idea. The regular election is enough.

Learning from our mistakes is what grows us, thinking about what we do not know grows us, discussing our beliefs (regardless of age) matures us. we had something like this when we had the 2000 elections. it was rather fun. Samuel Dravis
Well, you know that many times people's political ideas change radically after exposure to the 'real world' (getting out of school). Perhaps you'll be able to predict what person will be elected for real next time...or not.

obi
In California, in fact, only Students and kids under the age of 18 are allowed to vote. At least when it's about the governer anyway. *cough*
ckcsaber
lmao, who cares? I remember doing this in middle school. If I remember correctly, Senor Butthead was sworn into office that year. That was only because all the swing grades pulled a Florida, though. Mr. Stankypoo was definitely robbed.

Shok_Tinoktin
I dont have a problem with it in and of itself, but when they start trying to spin it, and make the claim that the winning candidate is better for our children or something, that's just wrong. In general, I dont think they have a clue what theyre talking about, so the voting is pretty much arbitrary.
TK-8252
Ugh... yes, my high school is doing this. And the worst thing about it is - so many people, teachers and students, are pushing it on you. It's like brainwashing! Acting like everyone has to "register" and "voice your opinion and be heard." It doesn't count for anything, sorry. Gimme a break. They both suck. I'm TK-8252 and I approved this message.
