surely I cant be the only one who thinks those things are freakin stupid... Toyota obviously has invested well in some young concept designers whose key inspirations are smack and anime, which also explains sithy's fascination with these ridiculous contraptions :(:p

Ninja is right, that would be useless for military applications. A Tank could just drive right over it.

As for its use. If you read the article, it said the i-foot could help disabled people walk around and up stairs and stuff.

Stannah Stairlifts must be crapping themselves....

this is a break through in science. Previously mechanics trying to mimic biological leg structures could barely support their own weight. these can obviously support their own weight and that of a grown adult. In years this will bring way to smaller, more compact, yet more versatile structures. Possibly even to robotic limbs to replace those lost in accidents. This has incredible possibilities, and they go in all different directions.

It is still too big to go through doors. unless they make it smaller it has no practical use yet. good progress though;)

I hope they DO make mechanical arms and legs to replace them in acdents.

make them look real too.
