Darth Phonos Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Howdy everyone, I have a question that might have already been awnsered but im new here so i may as well see if anyone can help me out. Im wondering if in the future of the KotoR series they are going to put multiplayer into the game? i am asking this because i loved KotoR2 so much i played it till i got passed it and i would love to get passed it with a friend or friends,(i was at a LAN party as well ). Me and a friend were just having a chat about a mods and i would like to also know if there is any mods worth looking at for KotoR & KotoR2.
abespam Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Check out the holowans lab forum for mods.. i highly doubt they will ever put multiplayer considering there is already a mmorpg in star wars: galaxies. Still its kinda appealling idea
Darth Phonos Posted April 11, 2005 Author Posted April 11, 2005 Abespam does Star Wars Galaxies have the same gameplay as KotoR 2 ? and yeah it would be a awsome idea i think someone should get it into the devs head!
The Hidden One Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I don't think galaxies has the same battle system sas KOTOR. I think its a real time fighting system( It's a lot like Morrowind I think) and also welcome to the Forums.
Jeff Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I doubt that they will make multiplayer because so far both games have centered around one character, there wasn't 2 characters for there to be multiplayer like, for example, Batman and Robin.
Darth Phonos Posted April 11, 2005 Author Posted April 11, 2005 But they could somehow make the 3rd game centred around two people somehow.
lukeiamyourdad Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 No offense but GOD NO! I hope they never make KOTOR an MP game. Ever. The world is lacking a lot of good SP RPG's driven by incredible stories(except maybe for Jade Empire that's coming out soon enough).

Hallucination Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Theres enough MP in the world. Long live SP.

stingerhs Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 ^^^^ not to get too carried away with the rest of the crowd or anything, but i vote no multiplayer as well.
Darth Phonos Posted April 12, 2005 Author Posted April 12, 2005 All im saying is a multiplayer *option* could be put into the 3rd Kotor to experience your adventures with a friend, and that doesnt mean that if they have multiplayer single doesnt have to be included.
StoneDragon Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 I vote yes. It would be fun to fight another player than some crappy A.I.
Darth Phonos Posted April 12, 2005 Author Posted April 12, 2005 I would like a multiplayer aspect that is based around cooperative play and if you played cooperative the difficulty of the game increased dramaticly! for a challange
lukeiamyourdad Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Seriously, how would that work? This is a story driven RPG where dialogue has a lot of importance, maybe more then combat in a way. Since you won't spend 90% of your time whacking enemies, what will happen to your friend when you are busy talking to some NPC in order to get quest information? This isn't Diablo 2, nor World of WarCraft. Those games are adapted for MP(well, WoW is an MMORPG but anyway). Neverwinter Nights also works ok but I can't see a KOTOR MP unless they change some of the core gameplay mechanics and that's like killing the serie. IMO, any MP would be tacked on only to appease a few people. Note: A duel and kill everything mode might be put in if MP is an option but like I said, it's nothing more then tacked on with no other goal then:"Hey, we have MP!"

But with a finite budget and timeframe, adding MP would mean less time and money to work on SP. So I say hell no!

Hallucination Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 The most mp in the game would be a pvp arena (taris dueling with other ppl) or a highscore (highest dmg scored in hit, fastest time beaten etc). Anything else would be a different game.
Hallucination Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 Heres a new idea: Kotor swoop racer. You go against other people in a swoop race like podracer only good.
Darth Phonos Posted April 13, 2005 Author Posted April 13, 2005 As i said i was "Suggesting" that multiplayer be part of the game i didnt say turn the hole game into multiplayer, Singlplayed is fun but once you get passed it, its kinda dull and boring and as i said i would love to expeince my adventures with a friend.
lukeiamyourdad Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 That's the thing. How will you be able to have an enjoyable MP experience if some of the core gameplay mechanics are not bent?
