Also there was another store that just opened the doors and gave everything inside away, to prevent damage from looters. If it's neither of those stories, then I'd guess it was racist. Or simply another story I've not heard of. Either way, hurricanes+racism+looting=suck.

AFP is some French magazine, but I forgot its exact name. I think the word usage just boils down to whoever happend to write each article.

We have no idea about the context in either case, and looking at the linguistics the word 'finding' appears grammatically incorrect in the second photo, making it look like a translation error. While racism is a bad thing, people who go around seeing racism in every corner (including career 'race baitors' like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton) is not much better. Mike

The bags could contain junk he brought with him, dry clothes and what not. And he happened to "find" the soda like the other people. Anyway, yeah I poked fun about this before. Jokingly of course.

No one is going to "loot" a Grocery store if they have to swim though water to get it unless they really need it. They lost their homes, pretty much everything they have. And they are threatening to kill people who steal bread and soda. But I heard that other people are being stupid, by stupid I mean that they are looting liquor! Yah, lets go get a couple of bottles of Jack Daniels! Stupid. And gangs are still going at it at that super dome thing. WTF?! Huge natural disaster and the ****ers are still at it?! God!

The photographer was watching and taking pictures of people down on the streets, he says that the two white people where wading through the water when the bread and soda floated by, so they grabbed it for later. But the kid entered the store and looted it, swimming out with food. The photographer was watching him and took a shot as he exited. So yah, the black kid did loot. The others really just found them by chance. So, like, digest that real quick.
