El Sitherino
How did they ruin a relationship? Sony merely offered more money and a contract for exclusive developement. Also, RARE was bought by microsoft, so yeah.
Alkonium
Here's my opinion: Nintendo is so determined to be the best that they are doomed to suck, especially considering that stupid controller.
90SK
They've hooked me in with the ultimate backwards compatibility thing. Just for that, I'm willing to give it a spin. N64 fans are bound to be interested. And they wouldn't make the controllers like that unless they were sure people would buy it. It won't suck, it'll be different. Whether that's an improvement or not is yet to be seen.
Jeff
Here's my opinion: Nintendo is so determined to be the best that they are doomed to suck, especially considering that stupid controller. I wouldn't say they're so determined to be the best. If they were trying to compete with XBox and PSIII then they would have better graphics, more memory, and overall made their system with high-end parts. Nintendo is keeping their system under $200. That is your opinion, but it seems you don't have all the facts. Sony and Microsoft are the ones determined to be the best. Nintendo is the one determined to expand the gaming industry. And considering that controller, I think have have the right stuff to achieve their goal.
Astrotoy7
actually lynky, I think *all* their chief goals is making money Otherwise they might as well call themselves charities, which they definitely ain't mtfbwya
Lynk Former
You've totally missed my point there Astro. What I was saying is that Sony and Microsoft are competing for overall market share while Nintendo is working to expand the industry. While Sony and Microsoft are fighting to be "the best," Nintendo is going in another direction and is trying to make the market more profitable as a whole by reaching out to a larger group of people. It is obvious that they're all out to make money, but that doesn't take away from the facts I have stated.
Astrotoy7
.....While Sony and Microsoft are fighting to be "the best," ... by "best" I assume you mean : *fastest console *best hardware *range of title *sales voumes if it came down to sexeh, ps3's sleek lines wins(IMO), followed by the N-rev, and absoloutely last the 360(ugleeeee!) mtfbwya
Lynk Former
No I don't... - What is "fastest"? The N64 was faster than the PS1 and GCN is faster than the PS2, but in the end more people prefer the PS1 and PS2. - What is "best" hardware? The GCN and Xbox far outclass the PS2 in that aspect as well, yet they're less popular. - Range of titles? Sony has the most, obviously, but there are still quite a lot of people who prefer everything Microsoft/Nintendo has over what Sony has. - Sales volumes? Sales volumes only matter if you compare profits as well. And we all know Nintendo leads in the area of profits. And while people think Sony are the ones who benefit from the amount of games sold, they don't, it's all of those third party developers who benefit. Sony on the other hand had to wait before the hardware sales of the PS2 finally became worth the effort and have only started profiting in the last few years. What I mean is brand name popularity. That is the biggest goal Sony and Microsoft have. After all if someone says "videogames" you (Sony/Microsoft) want the people to say "Sony/Microsoft" as the answer. Hallucination
I like what it could do, and they could bring the RTS genre to a console which might be very fun. I'll have to here what you guys say, and I'll probably play it at a friends house to try it out.

After all if someone says "videogames" you (Sony/Microsoft) want the people to say "Sony/Microsoft" as the answer. hehe... when I hear the word "videogames" I immeditely think "I waste far too much time and/or money on those!" can any of these 3 companies get any bigger as far as brand knowledge!! Is there any younger parent/kid/gamer in the industrialised world that has not heard of these names !! Nintendo got their dice from the original NES days, sony became huge(in their association with gaming) with the ps1 and the xbox of course only recently. All 3 are juggernauts already !!! I cant wait wait to have a go on all 3 consoles I'll have to put a paper bag ontop of the 360 tho, its so damn fugly !!!! mtfbwya
Emperor Devon
Care to elaborate on that? I think that the controller is horrible. But I wouldn't be interested in the console anyway, so that's irrelevent.
Commander Obi-Wan
I wouldn't mind using the controller. I wouldn't mind playing it. Though, I am not going to buy it.

Rogue Nine
It means that everything that's been put out to the public up until now has all been conceptual and not concrete. Nintendo is a loooooooong way off from releasing the Revolution, especially since they've not decided on a CPU for it yet.
Lynk Former
How do you know for sure though? I mean out of all of the consoles Nintendo is the one which is the most mysterious and people love their rumours. Nintendo just announced that they would reveal EVERYTHING on May 9, 2006, 9:30AM @ E3. That means the final console, the final controller, the final name, the games, the virtual console details and any other secrets they've been keeping.
