What games would you like to be made in the KotOR time period?

Has anyone ever heard of Splinter Cell, this game serious that's not really popular, hides in the shadows, and no one ever plays...

Assassin vs. Sentinel

Just have Ubi make it...with technical advice from Tom Clancey and Obi Wan Kenobi:cool:

I also want to see...

BUMS of the OLD REPUBLIC!!!

What's it really like when you can't even afford a computer spike and would never dream of having your own smuggling vessel.

No one has ever really explored that side of the galaxy.

Old school adventure game, next gen engine:D

I was playing GTA San Andreas and got thinking about how a GTA Star Wars would look and feel like... The freedom and plethora of missions and locales would make for an awesome free-roaming SW experience.

I agree! :D

I can see it now... Grand Theft Speeder: Coruscant

Title Scroll: You are a Hutt Enforcer from Nar Shadaa send by Grekka The Hutt to purchase a load of Spice... yada, yada, yada...

That would be so cool...

GTS: Coruscant Crushing

GTS: Korriban/Kashyyk Killing

GTS: Dantooine Destruction (just get out of there before Malak decides to have some fun)

GTS: Taris/Telos/Tatooine Termination

Well you get the idea

I'd like a version of Dance Dance Revolution where you play as a blue Twilek Dancing girl! yummy!

Serious:

I think a game simular to Tachyon: The Fringe would be cool. It seems I haven't played a good flight sim in a while...

Or a Freelancer type game with Star Wars ships. (good suggestion RH)

Not really what I meant or what I had in mind.

I wasn't thinking about jacking speeders and fly around Coruscant or any other planet of your choice, running over jawas and twi'leks.

If you have played San Andreas more than past the first city. You'll know what I mean. It's a 3-d person action game with the accent put on storyline and storytelling. Think, free-roaming Jedi Academy with an open world.

^Except it would be stupid (no offense). GTA has out-lived itself, IMO.

I'm getting really tired of all the nonsense you spew around. You obviously have an opinion so why the f**k don't argument for it?! It seems you spam every thread that you can get your hands on without backing up any of your reasoning. Could it be because you were aiming for a post count of over 1000? Hmm I wonder... yet no moderator has noticed.

I don't mind this kind of behaviour from youngsters like Vladimir (even though he can and usually does argument for his opinions). But you sir are not young, thus you should act with more tact.

Now for you argument: "GTA has outlived itself". This means absolutely nothing. You could just as well have said "rpg-s have outlived itself" or "Sports games have outlived themselves" or "I can read your mind". It's a pointless jumble of words if you don't explain what you mean.

Anyway, let us look at its history then. GTA 1 came out in spring 1998 it quickly developed a very well grounded community, screaming after expansions and sequels and making mods. After each succesful expansion and sequel the constant GTA community has grown. Right now the franchise is at its 5-th game in the series and the community shows no sign of weakness. People are still modding the old games as well as the new ones as well as screaming after expansions and sequels. By putting out the latest GTA: SA, R* have shown that the franchise is far from dead and that they can and will do more with it.

If you want to know how a franchise has outlived itself then look towards "Mario Bros". Although it still has a stable fan-base and it is a cult game series and should Nintendo put out a new Mario Bros game then it would sell simply because it's mario (just as people would buy anything that says GTA). The fact remains that the classic platform Mario is dead. They have done 3d mario and that is as far as it goes. There's nothing more to do than repeating the ones that came before.

GTA on the other hand, repeats the gameplay that it is known for and also introduces new and improved elements of gameplay, breaking new ground and setting new standards with every new game.

As I've posted in the best and the worst games of '05. I think GTA: SA is among the worst of them, which should show that I don't like the game. The reasons I have for this is irrelevant for this discussion. But I think it shows that even if I don't like the game I can still appreciate quality and new interesting ideas. Which GTA: SA has and by itself sets a new standard.

I'd love to see games in the KOTOR time period where you can actually experience Tales of the Jedi that were depicted in the comic series from Dark Horse comics, where you can control Ulic Qel-Droma, Tott Doneeta, Cay Qel-Droma, and all the others depicted in the comics. THAT would be awesome. Learning about the things that happened 4,000 years + before the Battle of Yavin has always fascinated my mind, and I'd love to see that take form in a game where you can manipulate it, in correspondance to the comics of course.

I'd really love to see that happen.
