Just looking at the pictures alone, I know that this will suck. I'll only watch this if Jaime does some nude scenes .

I mean honestly, I think the studio execs sit down together and have a conversation along these lines #1: "So, anybody have any ideas for new movies?" #2 "Um, yeah, see there is this video game..." #1 "video game movie? Brilliant." #2 "Yeah, it's called Dead or Alive. Basically, it's a mediocre fighting game that is exclusively about how bouncy unrealistic women's boobs can bounce." #1 "sounds like a solid premise" #2 "yes, and since it's a fighting game, it has no plot to begin with, therefore, we can make this movie as ridiculously corny as we want without hurting the source." #1 "perfect. Find a generic cast of hot women and get this thing rolling as soon as possible." #2 "already done. I pitched the idea of a movie made exclusively to cater to pubescent 15 year olds. You know tight clothes, glancing nudity, we need to keep a PG-13 rating after all, and lots of ridiculous fight scenes." #1 "another winner. I can't wait" Cripes, if they are going to do a fighting game movie, at least use one that sort of has a plot. Like Soul Calibur. A bunch of warriors fighting to reclaim a lost weapon and the glory therin. Not that they would make a good movie even if it had a plot to start with, but hey, it would be a start. Ugh, idiots.

toms Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I think this movie has a lot more potential to be great than most other computer game related movies I've heard about recently... great in a Mortal Kombat kind of way... rather than the Doom/RE/AvP style wreck that I worry Halo may become.

Sure, it wasn't the best acting in the world, but it had the right amount of intensity. IMO, it had a decent plot especially with the fact that throughout the movie, the death toll rose steadily till like any self respecting Alien/Predator movie, there is only a single survivor (watch Alien Resurrection to see what I mean about self respecting YAAAAAY, EVERYONE LIVES. Anyways, personally, I don't even include Alien Resurrection as part of the franchise. It just sucked that bad. AvP however, I consider a good prequel. Back on topic, Yeah, DOA will suck.

Mortal Kombat is still probably htebest computer game to movie adaption.. and it isbasically just people in silly costumes kicking each other... so as long as it is done with a sense of fun and style I have no problem with movies like that... they are great for watching after a few beers... ...it better have a kick ass theme song though!!!!
