DarthJohn522
Which class is better for offline mode? Personally I like the Engineer more, because it's versatile and effective. The soldier does alot of damage with the blaster/elite rifle and thermal dets. The Engineer has a very good shotgun, the supply dispenser is so great, the detpacks are mini-mines and the fusion cutter is always so useful, the Engineer also regenerates its vehicle. Alkonium
True, which is why I choose not to use engineers, they're spammed up to easily, and I'm not going to lower myself to that.
Green Beret
ok i like the engineers cuz they kick booty in cqb.
Darth Andrew
Soldier class, since I prefer to kill my enemies at medium to long range than short range. Though engineers are nice to use when in a vehicle.
Commander Obi-Wan
Solider ftfw. Previously polls have shown this. Yes, the shotgun is awesome, but still nohting can beat the blaster rifle.
ET Warrior
Overuse of the ftw acronym, for the win? Â Seriously. Not trying to be an ass, but it really loses meaning when you use it in every single post.

Micahc
Soldier, in single player I hate the engineer. I'm always paranoid about dying, so I might be camping by a medical droid and that one engineer makes it his life mission to hunt me down.
TSR
i get bored of just pwning everyone with the blaster rifle, so sometimes the engineer seems so cool. especially when he can heal himself, has detpacks, can slice vehicles and an ward shotgun that takes out a droideka shield in 3 hits. tactical side sometimes seems more appealing so, gotta be the enigineer. w00t! RaVâ„¢
I find the soldier a little bit more to my tastes. Ussually by the time I get near my enemy with the Engineer half of my health is gone. When i'm a soldier I can blast the sucker from a distance so I don't have to worry about dying so easily.
TSR
get in their and fight like a man! up close and personal. even if you miss, the enemy is gonna think "oh sh*t, hes got a shotty, run away!". then you can run after them and mow em down. or lead them into a handily placed detpack
Mercury Noodles
Whatever best suits the situation is what I use. I pick the soldier most often, though, since I like being able to shoot things from a distance. The shotgun seems a little weird among the blasters, but the detpacks are a lot of fun. MachineCult
The soldier, I really can't be bothered with the engineer, the Rifles are so much easier to use than the shotgun.
Green Beret
i like troopers for places where you can keep your enemy at a distance. but in tantive and other places where you get up close the shotgun kicks butt. love stickin a detpack round a corner and waitn for some idiot stormtrooper to come round. ParanoidAndroid
I try to use soldier more, but I find the engineer is more useful if you want to gain any ground. The weapon is awsome, you get lots of health and can repair as a bonus. Oh yeah, det packs rock too (I just always kill meself with 'em) Â I'd really like to say 'soldier' but that would be a lie. I like him more, but I just find myself using the engineer more and more despite myself.
toue
i prefer the enginere just a wee bit more then the soldier offline mostly because i almost never play anything but the death star and the closeness of his gun is a big part of my stratagy
TSR
...I just always kill meself with 'em... LOL, that happens alot to me. i'll press the secondary fire button, nothing happens after a second so i press it again, and then all of a sudden i'm getting a birdseye view of Mos Eisley, the map which you will always find me playing
Niner_777
I'm going to have to say the soldier. Engineers can be very useful, but the soldiers are just better at taking out enemy troops, IMO. Soldiers are rather good at most ranges, whereas the engineer only is effective at shortrange, mostly. Also, the engineer doesn't even have a pistol for medium range, not that the pistols are that good, but the award pistols are good. I think that the engineer requires a strategy that I'm not used to, so I go with the soldier most of the time. However, if you're good at doing lots of rolling and sprinting, and still having good close range aim, and you like performing slices and fixing turrets/droids, then the engineers would be the class to play as. Lord_Andre
Soldier. With the soldier the death rate of your adversaries is three times bigger than with the Engineer.
Darth MD
The soldier seems to me like the better choice, the engineer is effective only in tight places(indoors) like Tantive IV or Death Star....
Niner_777
I agree, however, for some reason I find the engineer effective on Felucia. Maybe because human enemies can't see you until you get close to them, lol.
TSR
unlike the Ai which can see you from the otherside of the map and shoot you through the fog and about 20 trees...
Niner_777
^So true. I was going to write enemies, but then I realized that that wasn't true, only human enemies can't see you. LOL
