mimic666 Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Dunno but some Croc's do grow that size, I believe some of those seens were animatronic or CG, but I haven't seen that movie since it came out in theaters. PS: oh yeah it's a Crocodile not a Alligator, I believe it's explained in the movie... Alligator pointed snout, Croc's Rounded Snout. Sorry if that sounds snappish it isn't.
RaV™ Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Well I havent seen that movie in ages, but they all look the same to me other then the noses. They'll both kill you with the roll or whatever they do, which looks interesting. A croc growing that size? Sounds like anabolic steroids to me!
lukeiamyourdad Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 PS: oh yeah it's a Crocodile not a Alligator, I believe it's explained in the movie... Alligator pointed snout, Croc's Rounded Snout. Sorry if that sounds snappish it isn't. Wrong. It's the opposite. About Carrie, what's actually scary about it? Perhaps it's just because I had read the book first or something, but I found neither of them remotely scary. I mean, it's just a teenager who has evil superpowers...ooooo!!
RaV™ Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Ooh Carrie is another movie I could stand, it wasn't scary at all..some points amusing..
mimic666 Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Yes that's what I was thinking, but that lady from the Golden Girls was raising them so who knows. Sorry if what I said offended you I didn't mean to. Like I said lukeiamyourdad I haven't seen that movie since it came out years ago. Funny Ignore my posts until It seems I say somethiing stupid. I'm not surprised.
Q Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 I respectfully beg to differ on the 'insanity=demonic possession' idea. I am not saying that someone can't be demon possessed (I've met a couple frighteningly malevolent people and really had to wonder about them). However, equating mental illness with demonic forces is not quite accurate. Having worked with plenty of mentally ill people whose lives have benefitted immeasurably by proper medication, I can tell you insanity is just a problem with brain chemistry and the brain not functioning properly. Would you say someone with asthma or a heart condition was demon possessed? If not, then why would you say someone with a brain condition is demon possessed? Stepping off the soapbox now.... Perhaps I should clarify: I believe that ALL forms of illness are a form of demonic possession, being symptoms of the original curse that humankind brought upon itself through disobedience, along with "thorns and thistles", "pain in childbirth", and generally having its benevolent dominion over nature taken away and given to that brilliant usurper who instigated said disobedience in the first place. Where, in the beginning we were briefly at the top of the food chain, now they are, and we are their primary food source! I certainly meant no offense to you, Jae, or anyone else for that matter. I realize that this is a REALLY touchy subject with a lot of people, so I'll step off of MY soapbox, now, sorry!
RaV™ Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 So since I have an anger problem, i'm controlled by demons?
Q Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 So since I have an anger problem, i'm controlled by demons? Only if you let your anger control you and not the other way around. I have this problem, too. One of those heavy, sand-filled punching bags is a good, non-destructive way to deal with it. It REALLY works, and nobody gets hurt! Q

RaV™ Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Well I box, but not to vent my anger. I box for the glory and possibility for great things to come in my life. But anyway ontopic I thought IT the movie was scary when I was a little kid.
The Seeker Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Ugh, to get back on topic and away from people's religious (or lack thereof) opinions that belong in the senate and far away from here... 28 days later sucked It seemed like they were copying Resident Evil Way TOO Much. Virus taking over Human bodies is Resident Evil's T & G Viruses, Characters trying to make it to a place without Zombies... Resident Evil, Military involved... Resident Evil. They just removed Umbrella Corp, added another Female Character and a Father Character, changed the man-made Virus to a Man-made Virus that infected monkeys and then Humans amoungst other things. I will give you that one that there are similarities between 28Dl and RE, but only on the surface. In execution, RE takes the typical approach of corny dialogue, all the characters are always properly composed and unshaken, and dressed either in perfectly cut military uniforms or impractical sexy clothes, the action is stylistic-see-how-many-flips-I-can-do-before-landing-in-an unnaturally-cool-way crap. I thought 28 was very well grounded for a zombie flick. The survivors were believable, desperate, hopeless, terrified, and determined to survive. Exactly how I imagine any of us would be in a situation like that.
mimic666 Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 I was talking about the Movie and video game circa 1995 if anyone can remember that far back, but if you are comparing just the movies RE is the better IMO and came out a few years before 28 days.
Astrotoy7 Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 "Ghosts of The Civil Dead" was pretty unnerving. "Horror" movies arent really scary, if you think about it Just love how Hollywood is ripping off every Japanese Horror flick they can get their hands on............though its nothing new, Hollywood has been ripping off Japanese Cinema since The Seven Samurai/Magnificent Seven... **** Hollywood mtfbwya
milo Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Burning down an orphanage works too hehe, that's hilarious:lol: I remember, Jaws was pretty scary. Well, actually, it was just that one part, when he's checking out the underwater ship, and the dead guy floats right in front of him. I almost crapped my pants.
mimic666 Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 I forgot to mention GhostShip I dunno if someone already said this one already I'm still too tired to check anyway. The part with the banner at the beginning is badass.
Mace MacLeod Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Perhaps I should clarify: I believe that ALL forms of illness are a form of demonic possession, being symptoms of the original curse that humankind brought upon itself through disobedience, along with "thorns and thistles", "pain in childbirth", and generally having its benevolent dominion over nature taken away and given to that brilliant usurper who instigated said disobedience in the first place. Um...k...I'll...just...get back on topic now... I thought 28 Days Later is the best of the latest crop of zombie movies by far. That and Shawn of the Dead, which is in a class by itself, IMHO. It's almost how you could see actual, real human beings acting in a situation like that, instead of the standard Hollywood spray-2000-bullets-per-second stuff.
Mace MacLeod Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Yeah. Hilarious stuff. Absolutely must-watch viewing if you haven't seen it.
HerbieZ Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 The Descent is the only film that ever scared me to death. I literally died.
JediKnight707 Posted June 3, 2006 Author Posted June 3, 2006 When I saw the beginning of DotD I was forced to turn it off. It wasn't any of the zombies or any of that. Believe it or not, it was the Emergency Broadcast System that got me the most. Since I've seen that movie, I've had to had a radio or a TV everytime I sleep. IONO why, but that seemed to get me. Sometimes now when I watch the telly, I think, "What if an EBS thing came on and said that the world was taken over by zombies?!" My stomach does flips everytime I think of that....Just one of those wierd things, eh? But the zombies? Bah! I'd dropkick one of those ****ers after I awake from my passing out from hearing the EBS report I actually haven't seen the movie for like a month and a half now, but I was walking in my bookstore like I do 5 times a week ('cause I'm that cool), and I noticed a book with the title Zombie Survival Guide. I squinted my eyes, and every ventricle in my body told me not to pick it up, but alas, I did. To make a long story short, this book said that zombies were real, there was a disease that really turned people into zombies. Now naturally I assumed that it was fake, but I read on. This guy (Max Brooks I wanna say his name was...) presented evidence and my young mind seems to believe in it like him. Make fun of me if you want, but when you put the movie and this book together, I get scared. As for 28DL's I really enjoyed that movie. Great acting, good storyline, believable. Plus, it was a UK film, so it didn't scare me I liked the ending too I'm a sucker for good endings. And Jaws? It was frightening maybe, when I saw it the first time (though I can't remember the first time I saw it), but I really wasn't all that spooked. But my mom, who has the biggest sharkphobia was so terrified when she saw it, she told me that she was damn near afraid to take a shower, and could only pop in there for a few minutes. Damn good thing I wasn't near her during that particular week...
Q Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 How about "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer"? Has anyone seen that? Q
Vibro Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Salems Lot is without doubt the scariest film I've ever seen.

mimartin Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 In my personal opinion “Jaws” and “The Shining” are the scariest movies I’ve ever seen. I saw them both as a small child and had trouble going on vacation for a couple of years. The movie that made me jump out of my skin was “The Legend of Boggy Creek.” Saw it on TV when I was about 10 years old on a hunting trip in Mississippi. The camp house we were staying in wasn’t well built and the toilet was outside. In the movie the Big Foot type creature attacks a man as he is takes a crap, so the rest of the trip I only went to the toilet during the day. Seen the movie later as an adult and it is so stupid it is funny, but as a child it scared the crap into me.
