Maverick5770 Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I usually play as a LS Sentinel/Watchman. Sometimes a Guardian. But it really depends on how you want to play, pick your class according to how you want to play.
Snake55 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I usualy play as a Guardian LS or DS depends what i feel like when i start:saberg:
goldberry Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Dark Side Consular + Sith Lord + Force Storm + Master Drain Life = Game Over. Dark Sentinal + Sith Lord + Master Drain Life + Lightsaber = Flashier Game Over. Dark Guardian + Sith Marauder + Max Upgraded Lightsaber = 1 Hit Kill. IMO, all the best builds are DS.
Gavroche Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Mmm... If you want a effective killer as PC, then the best class is Consular+Lord... Sith Lord : Fear third level + Force Storm, or Force Wave + Force Storm, or also Fear/Wave + Drain Life for genocide, Force Kill or Force Crush for fast individual murder... Marauder Sith is good too, but for individual murders only. Okay, when you are against a group of enemies, you kill them fast, but one by one. So the Sith Lord is the best serial-killer.
chaz100 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I love the Light Side Sentinel, I like to use skills in KOTOR 2 as well as average force and combat, you got someone who's good all round.
Vaelastraz Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 The thing is, compared to other Rpgs (Warrior - Wizard - Thief) Kotor's "Warrior" has still a plenty of "magic". My guardian may have just as much force power as a consular... I prefer to stay in the middle, sentinel! (The prestige class sucks though, I dont want to stealth)
SithAnnihilator Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 DS Consular / Sith Lord. Maybe its more of a matter of the challenge early on (With darkkenders halowan plugin of course). I never was one to go the easy route though I do play LS Guardian / LS Weapon Master every once in a while. I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment considering with the consular and the hardcore mod in the plugin I end up dying atleast 4 times on Peragus.
Kurzon Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I think going Consular then Weapon Master/Sith Marauder is the best combo. You become strong in both Force and combat. Guardians get Force Jump, but that doesn't get used often. They get Weapon Specialisation: Lightsaber, but you'll get that eventually when you take any of the PrC. Sentinels get immunity to Stun and Fear, but there are items that give you this, and you don't need all the skills. Consulars, on the other hand, get bonuses to Force power DCs. This is the only way to make save-or-nothing powers like Stasis and Horror to work, as all the enemies seem to have very strong saves. Watchmen and Assassins get Sneak Attack, which goes together nicely with a stunning effect. However, why not just fry them with Force Lightning? Jedi Masters and Sith Lords get lots of Force points, but by lvl 15 you already have plenty of that (even if you like to indulge in opposing alignment powers; your own alignment powers will have negligible cost). They also get no additonal bonuses to Force power DCs; you might as well have stayed a Consular. The Weapon Master PrC, however, will fix up your weaknesses without hurting your Force potential; lots of feats and great VP and Defense.
Fjope Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I've always played as a Gaurdian to Weaponmaster/Marauder. Although after finding that Weaponmaster's don't get any special powers, I won't being going down that road again. The classes have never seemed very diverse to me, Gaurdians get everthing everyone else does, and lots of weapon bonuses on the top: and if you give them eighteen intelligence they get plenty of skills and forcepoints. Nothing beats raging and then spamming flurry and chain lightning.
General Solo Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 I like to use the Light Side Consular because I think that force powers are alot funner to use then attacking head on with the opponent. DS Consular would be the next best one, well probably the all out best but LS Consular I like to use the most.
Whiteknight1980 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 LS Jedi Guardian/Weaponmaster with Saberstaff (Double-sided Lightsaber). You take all the feats early on while using your allies to cover what you can't with melee. Once you build the saber, you can start to pwn things like nuts. True, Weaponmasters don't get special powers but they can own even Sith Marauders in battle and mow through the two most enemy-infested areas: Onderon during Vaklu's Coup de'tat AND Trayus Academy. This is just my opinion though. ^_^
playloud Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 LS Guardian/Weaponmaster is the only way I really care to play. I only use a single saber (I'm traditional that way). I just wish the game was harder. Even on hard difficulty, there really isn't much of a challenge.
KPH2293 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 My favorite is Sentinel/Watchman/Assassin. I prefer balance. And I don't like relying on my party members for skills.
Melly Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I play Consular/Jedi Master almost exclusively. Just like in K1 I play Scoundrel/Consular almost exclusively. So I voted Consular.
Prime Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Clearly it is light side guardian. Anything else is just a mistake...
HerbieZ Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Lightsided consuler, because i don't like to take the easy street.
CK51 Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Old thread resurrection but oh well lol. I find the best class I did was Jedi Guardian/Jedi Master combo. I got all the useful combat feats, up to Master Force Jump, had mastered every active combat feat and alot of Passive ones. By the end of the game I never ran out of Force Points, even when playing LS and spamming Force Storm. I was also amazing in melee combat, and would have owned even more if I had dual wielded instead of single blade. I dont see why anyone else *hasnt* taken this class combination.
Hawkstrong16 Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Lightside Scout/Sentinal/Watchman. That is the best. I owned at that, I had the perfect balance between melee combat and force combat. I single wielded though both games(and blaster wielded, god that was hard) But I owned everything I saw, lol
Rev7 Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Eh, I voted for the Light Side Sentinel. I only chose that because I play on the lightside most of the time, and they (IMO) have to best overall skills and abilities. I think being a Light/Dark side Sentinel is the best base, for any of the higher prestige classes. Just my two cents...
Gurges-Ahter Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I voted for light side guardian, but I've only had one playthrough and that's what I chose. If I get a chance to play again, I will probably go sentinel to give that a shot. Either that or I will go Guardian and then choose Jedi Master, to get the best of both worlds.
JCarter426 Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Sentinel for me. Guardian/Master just doesn't do it when it comes to skills. Sentinel offers a better balance. And I usually play LS, but it doesn't really matter either way.
Ctrl Alt Del Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Dark Side Consular. It's almost no fun killing your enemies with Force Storm and Crush, later on the game. Old thread resurrection but oh well lol. Then you shouldn't do it. It's against the forums policy.
Gurges-Ahter Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Just out of curiosity - why is that against forums policy? Is it better to start a new thread with the same topic?
CK51 Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Just out of curiosity - why is that against forums policy? Is it better to start a new thread with the same topic? True. If I had started a new thread, I would have been told that there is already an existing thread, and I shouldve posted it that.
Hallucination Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I'm no mod, but generally a thread is okay to be resurrected if it's only been dead for a month or two. As soon as a thread is over 6 months dead you should start avoiding it like the plague merged with cancer and is out to get you. OT: I stick with my response from all those years ago.
