Point Man Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 At last, I can get the last performance of Orson Welles on DVD.

How about having a movie where Orson Welles and Lenord Nemoy worked on together. Talk about two science-fiction legends. Wow. Nice find. If I were to hand anything down to my future children, this and Star Wars would be on my list. Nice find!

Shem Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Hey, I got the movie. I got it at Costco, so it came with the TV series pilot, "More Than Meets the Eye." This TV series represents a part of my childhood and will always have a special place in my heart. BTW, I hope Prime brings back his animated Optimus Prime GIF soon. I really miss it.

Commander Obi-Wan Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 HerbieZ said: Transformers sucks. Period. Cool. I don't know if I've watched it before, I might have. I'll have to look into seeing it again. I also hope the new movie coming out next year is worth seeing.
T7nowhere Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Transformers is a classic TV show and one I watched as a kid. Though the series got really strange and a little inconsistant after the movie. Heh it seemed like they were just trying to sell new toys at that point. The New Movie will be great though.
Mace MacLeod Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Transformers was always mandatory viewing for me when it was on. Those were the days...3:00--M.A.S.K. 3:30--Transformers. 4:00--G.I. Joe. 4:30--mom smacks me about the head and shoulders for watching tv instead of doing homework or chores. Memories...
Point Man Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Okay, to really weird people out, I would rush home from college to watch Transformers on TV.
RedHawke Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 This is one thing I have been waiting for... Goes out to get some Energon Cubes! Mmmmmmm!

Q Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I agree with T7 that the series was best before the movie was released, and went off the deep end after. G.I. Joe went crazy at about the same time. I wonder if the writers for both series discovered the magic mushroom at that time? It would go a long way towards explaining why they both got so weird. All of those series were blatant commercials, but some were good, and Transformers was the best of them all. I'll probably check out the new movie. BTW: Which Transformer toy was your fav? Being an aircraft nut, mine was Jetfire, called Skyfire in the series for some unexplained reason.

I remember racing home from class to catch that lineup. I was about four years old. --Remember when it went from-- 3:00 M.A.S.K. -- 3:30 Transformers.-- 4:00 G.I. Joe. --To-- 2:00 Smurfs -- 2:30 GoBots -- 3:00 M.A.S.K. -- 3:30 Transformers -- 4:00 G.I. Joe -- 4:30 HeMan/SheRa The 1980s Transformers Rules. Soundwave was my favorite.

Though Jazz was my second favorite.
The_Catto Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I GOT IT!!!! Yay! lol ... i rmember watchin the good Transformer cartoon. Not the new one today, thats crap and stuff, i reckon. I remember watchin the movie for the first time and hearing the voice say 'In the year 2005' and i was like ... cant wait for then!!!! and i didnt remember it till the first time i watched it for ages a few months back, then i just laughed, happily, and ofcourse, disapointedley lol. Starscream for me ... although, i did like Ratchet, he was the awesomeness!

Q Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Three votes for Soundwave so far. I recall a lot of guys liking him back then, too. Must be that uniquely freaky voice of his. @RH: Jazz was my second fav, too.

Jazz would have to move down to third place. Something about a T-Rex Transformer... or it could have been the fact I was heavily into Dinosaurs at that time.
