Acrylic Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 So, I decided to go on the computer to check some new and stuff, before I go to school, and I see all my bookmarks were randomly deleted!!! WTF?! This happened once before, and I thought it was a glitch that I had part in doing, but no, not this time. I hate firefox.
Spider AL Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Mm, yeah. Opera all the way. Fight the power.
Monkey Mania Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Heh, you must have a virus then. My bookmarks are fine.
BongoBob Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Damn, that sucks Acyrlic. I've never had Firefox do anything like that : |
TiE23 Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 If the above link doesn't work, FF might have changed your profile. Used to happen to me all the time because this error would appear during use. Pissed me to no end, I'd loose all bookmarks and saved forms. http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new Start it up and see if there is more than one account, choose default or something.
XoXoXAlexOxOxO Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 wierd o.O, i've never had that happen
Vikinor Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Yeah, Internet Explorer isn't that bad. Please don't shoot me.
Jeff Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Yeah, Internet Explorer isn't that bad. Please don't shoot me. Yes it is.
MrWally Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 *shoots Vikinor* *shoots Vikinor's dead body* I. HATE. INTERNET EXPLORER. ROAR!
Samuel Dravis Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I've had bookmarks deleted in older versions of Netscape (what I used before switching) and I think maybe once in a primitive version of Firefox. However, since version 1.x I've had no problems with it whatsoever... I'm not using 2.x though. Too many bugs, not enough awesome.
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Mm, yeah. Opera all the way. Fight the high memory usage. Fix'd. I love Firefox, but it'll kill a system without a decent amount of RAM, and the longer it runs, the more memory it eats up (and it usually uses around 40k-50k K when it starts up, which is the most I've seen Opera use and about double what IE uses).
JKLE_Cougar Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 i really dont see what is so wrong with IE I use IE all the time and have no problems at all I honstly see no need to get Fire Fox at all
Spider AL Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Opera's a nice browser if you ever feel the need to try something new, Cougar. It's much cleaner than IE to use... got nice features... everything can be easily tinkered with... very few people write Opera-specific spyware... I'd use Firefox, but to be quite honest, I find it pretentious. I mean it reeks of a kind of superior elitism.
MasterRoss08 Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I use Opera now due to problem I had with Ie. With Ie I get freeze problems when I try exiting Ie or just loading a site. I agree with spider here. Opera is way cleaner than ie. Not as many things you can use with opera compared to Ie but atleast I havnt ran into any problems lately( well big bad problems).
MrWally Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Or even more great: http://www.getswiftfox.com/ Linux users ftw!
JKLE_Cougar Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I have used Firefox before and wasnt really impressed sure it had a few nice features but they are irrelevent and i only used them once and didnt bother using them again I havent used Opera before to be honest but ill look into it but seriously im so used to IE and i only use it for one thing looking at webisites and posting in forums so really there is no need for all these special features. its like a car IE like a Taurus its cheap and gets the job done, firefox is like a Acura comes with some nice stuff and Opera i guess is like a BMW nice clean riding lol
igyman Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Yeah, Internet Explorer isn't that bad. Please don't shoot me. i really dont see what is so wrong with IE I use IE all the time and have no problems at all I honstly see no need to get Fire Fox at all [inquisition mode]Wha...? HERETICS!![/inquisition mode] *hunts them both down and bashes their heads with a Firefox icon-shaped mace*
BongoBob Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 The thing I hate most about IE is that it had no tabbed browsing until IE7. And even now I won't use it just because I love the DownThemAll extention for firefox.
