JediMaster12
Pottsie and SithRevan: Thanks for the back up there. As an anthropologist, one of the things that is firmly ingrained in our brains is the development of kingdoms and city state governements which all begins with the development into the intensive agriculture that we know it. Again that is technology at work. An interesting note: Technology is not limited to the high tech stuff that we have like computers and A.I., etc. Technology also involves lesser things like a part of scissors. No electro gadgets just two pieces of metal shaped so that the sharp ends cut things when brought together. The everyday stuff is technology and I have had problems with that too. We have a hand can opener at home, not an electric one. Some days I just can't get the thing set right to open a can of corn or whatever. Since this thread is about technology I thought I should point out some of my bad days with the things that don't have a power pack attached to it. REDJOHNNYMIKE
Other than the fact that I'm using a 5 year old monitor only capable of producing loud white noise. Every time I plug in my phones the computer freaks out and wants to know what I so callously inserted into it's delicate workings....even in the middle of games:lol: Offsets my idiot moments. You must have quite a few insightful moments. *highfives devon*
JediMaster12
The computer freaks out RJM? Well I guess we should be used to the fact that anything you touch comes alive including ancient machines. I learned how to type on one of those things. REDJOHNNYMIKE
Yeah, can't seem to disable it. I know....when I touch things...they just feel...so....alive.
Jae Onasi
I know....when I touch things...they just feel...so....alive. Stop poking yourself! And get a new mobo so you can return to your basement internet!
JediMaster12
I thought he lived in a sewer. Still my biggest quirk is with the credit card machines that businesses have. I get peeved when for some reason or other the card doesn't swipe like it should and it reads error. Then out comes the old plastic bag to try and get it to swipe. More nasty business. Of course the other great is you swipe your card and it says error server time-out or some such so you get it swiped again and it goes through fine. 2 days later and you've been double charged. @ Mace is your satelite working yet? Ours went out after a windstorm 4 weeks ago and no matter how much I get up on the roof and get shocked by the low voltage electrical device I can't get it to receive signal anymore. We bring out a tech and he can't even get the darn thing to lock onto a satelite. Even I am at the stage that if I see another one of my 150+ DVD's I'm going to kill something small and furry. I can't even stand seeing the Star Wars movies now.
Carlo El Sanchez
Of course I don't enjoy life if my computer screws up. But there is always a strange excitement I get, a strange kick, as I try to find clues and solve the problem. Of course, I get really pissed off if it's something major. You know theres more to life than computer, play a sport or somthing iv played Soccer for more than 7 years now as its my background sport... JediMaster12
True and a soccer ball is a technology that gives a head ache, well for me, it winded me. I couldn't breathe after a hard kick given by a player when we played kickball.
Phantom Joker
hey, i hate technology too, i hate computers even though im on one i cant stand them! damn nerdy pieces of crap!!! i only really like HDTV's and Xbox 360 Someone may correct me here, but isn't the Xbox a dedicated gaming...computer? I ask merely for information.
RedHawke
^^^^ From what I understand, yes and XBox and 360 are dedicated gaming computers.
JediMaster12
And like anything else in our world of technology, they have their flaws. My brother and I waited a year on the XBox because there had been that recall where the units were overheating. Now I am hearing with the 360 that there have been internet shutdowns. Microsoft claims them to be isolated incidents but after that, I would be content to wait for a year or two
Mace MacLeod
I've got my comp back in action and I still hate technology. New RAM, data recovery and too much money later...oh well. At least we saved all our pictures and personal files. Now if only I can get the satellite tv guys to permanently fix our box so we actually get all the channels we pay for, life will be good. Reclaimer
Damn, sounds like Christmas sucked, technology wise. We had a few outages on our cable, but I think it was from them re-setting it.
