martmeister Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Nope, probably b/c KOTOR's an RPG. Well, it would be a way to get another Star Wars movie in.
JoeDoe 2.0 Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Not really a movie, but a TV series would be better IMO, like the awaited Star Wars live action TV series. It should involve some parts of the Mandalorian War along with Revan's turning into Sith.
Ctrl Alt Del Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 ^Yeah, tv series. Rick McCallum said that he wanted many series running simultaneously, one of which could be Kotor-era.
Titanius Anglesmith Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 1. Game-to-movie adaptations rarely ever work, so I doubt there will be a KotOR movie. 2. This doesn't belong in The Unkown Regions.
Totenkopf Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Yeah, if they do the Mando Wars, they could slip the Exile into the story as well and cover the period leading to the Civil War by "series" end, with Exile taking a powder and heading for the hills.
Darca Lar Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Yeah, maybe a prologue movie, but thats it.
Miltiades Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 ^Yeah, tv series. Rick McCallum said that he wanted many series running simultaneously, one of which could be Kotor-era. Yeah, I've heard that. Would be nice, I think. Of course not an adaption of the game, but the Mandalorian Wars would be fitting.
Revanation121 Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 I think a tv series would be a good idea, there could be lightside and a darkside of the series
Revanation121 Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 the only problem would be how to fit it together nicely
Miltiades Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 That's why I think a TV-series based on the game isn't a good idea, IMO. The various choices the player has can't all be included in a TV-series, and creating a LS & DS series is not worth it, I think. A TV-series in the Kotor Era is something that could work. There are enough facts of the Mandalorian Wars that can be used in a TV-Series. The Kotor comics would surely help there.
Gargoyle King Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Just watch the Kotor film that was made from the Kotor game itself, it's very good.
Orzo17 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Nope,no kotor movie. The story from the game is way to long for 2 hours.Plus, immagine how cinical people would be,remember how people felt about the prequels, all the ranting(mostly from people who are casual star wars viewers).I think the kotor movie would be strictly fan-oriented)
Darth Xander Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 No way I can never see a kotor movie comin out buts its a swell idea
Sir Vougalot Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 I've wanted a KOTOR-era TV series for a long time. But it'd be hard to fit it in. If it takes place before the games, it might come into conflict with the comic series. It could take place after, but then it wouldn't be much different than post-Revenge of the Sith series that will be airing next year: a great Jedi purge, the remaining Jedi being hunted down, etc. On the other hand, it could be used as a supplement for KOTOR 3 in case they decide not to make it. I definitely do not want it to be a retelling of the events of the games themselves. Those stories have already been told in the games, and being depicted any other way just wouldn't sit well with me. I had the same thing against the Dark Forces novellas.
BigMike322 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 I agree, a prologue series would be awesome. Have it start right before the mandalorian wars, and end with the Jedi defeating/capturing Revan.
Rev7 Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 A whole new Saga??? Unanswered questions from the first saga??? That would sound awesome to me.
BigMike322 Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Then have some comics bridge the gap between Kotor 1 and 2.
Prime Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 No matter what, Ron Perlman must play Canderous.
Titanius Anglesmith Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 No matter what, Ron Perlman must play Canderous. Even though I'm against the idea of a KotOR movie, he would definitely be the perfect choice for Canderous. Of course, Morgan Freeman would have to play Jolee, and the guy who played the Mummy would be a good Bao Dur.
PoiuyWired Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 A Life Action Star Wars Movie... and MAKE IT A MUSICAL!!! Just Imagine The Fun.
Rev7 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Singing during a lightsaber duel.... so much fun.
RedHawke Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 No matter what, Ron Perlman must play Canderous. QFT!
T3-M4 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 KOTOR wouldn't do that well, due to the fact that most Star Wars fans are glued to the New Republic and the Empire comics, books etc. (And Besides, I think it'd be too hard to choose an answer to a question for the script out of 50 different possible answers)
Totenkopf Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Well, whatever they did, it would have to be done well, b/c there are a legion of critics probably skulking about ready to tear any effort apart for failing to live up to their gaming experience/preconceived notions about how a KOTOR movie should play out. Much like purists who hate movies for not being true enough to their own vision of the original source material. Yeah, I agree too, Perlman's the obvious call for Canderous. Still, ain't holding my breath on this one.
