Rev7
I don't see the point of having an ad like that...that would just turn me away from going to London...
El Sitherino
I may be a little slow in the head, but I'm not sure I understand the advertisement. I see what's going on, and can explain what's going on, but I don't really get the point...

Ctrl Alt Del
I don't see the point of having an ad like that...that would just turn me away from going to London... The text says people from Belgium would see the point... I hardly believe that.
Emperor Devon
"It's fun, it's supposed to show how cosmopolitan London is. Yes, I really think it says London is cosmopolitan," insisted a spokeswoman for Eurostar. I guess Eurostar wants to make London look like a very cross-cultural and worldly city? Reasonable enough, but where they got the idea shaving your head and peeing in china makes you a cultured person I'm clueless as to. Eurostar would be better off advertising modern art. tk102
"It just captures your imagination, stops you, makes you think. People get it." "It's all meant to be very humourous, very funny and to get across the message that London is just around the corner." Sort of like a guy peeing in the alley just around the corner of a pub. It's stops you...makes you think.
Serpentine Cougar
It's all meant to be very humourous, very funny and to get across the message that London is just around the corner. I get the point, but I don't really find it funny. Seems more like "shock value." [Elliott Frisby of the British Tourist Authority] said the adverts work well in Belgium and believes they are advertising Eurostar rather than Britain itself. I wonder if the Brits see it this way.... P.S. lol @ Rev7
El Sitherino
Maybe if it was John Cleese leaking on a wall around the corner ("England's just around the corner") of a pub, I could see their whole idea and image (we're edgy and exciting, possibly a little inebriated). This just... it seems like a 4chan meme.

HerbieZ
This is just weird. I would have had something better like a train blasting through an English garden tea party.

Ctrl Alt Del
i still don't understand the red piss doesn't really make me wanna visit the place if I end up pissing red That's not the point of the ad. It's meant to show London as a cosmopolitan place... Though it's effectiveness is arguable.

adamqd
This picture is the ultimate Middle finger Salute to the UK government, this "hooligan" and his attire (or lack of), is exactly what the gov' is trying to steer away from. we have a lot of trouble with football violence and binge drinking etc, they even frown on people celebrating St. Georges day in a bid to seem more multi-cultural. No, Whatever this is meant to signify, it's not how the UK Gov' would advertise London/England. It's meant to show London as a cosmopolitan place Quite the opposite, this would be a very insular view of England.
