Oh, believe, me I love Final Fantasy VII. Aerith is my favorite character. :) It just...frustrates me somewhat. I love learning all I can from it, and enjoy all of the characters, but when I play it...it jus doesn't connect with me. But VII is a great game for begining players.

VIII was just my favorite for the Junction, Characters, and plot [err...Plot from 1-end of 2 ;)]

VI is wonderful. You have he wide assortment of characters, a fairly nice plot, set in medival times.

FFVI is definately the best from the retro era of Final Fantasy games. FFVIII was a beautiful game, and the draw and junction systems are still very fresh and different considering the game's age. I've been playing the FFVII prequel "Crisis Core" a lot recently on the PSP and it's pretty neat for a prequel; guess i'm a bit of a FFVII junkie! :D

I'm still playing FF6 for the first time, but I'm loving it and I can see why some people might put it on their top 10 lists. The characters have more fully-fleshed out backstories than any Final Fantasy before it, and the story flows nicely, pulling you subtly from one scenario to the next. The graphics are also nice; I was surprised they could make such cool effects back then! In my opinion, it's the best of the pre-FFVII Final Fantasies; if you want to see what the series was like before #7, just play this one. 1 through 5 just don't compare.

  • 2 weeks later...

1: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

2: Guild Wars

3: Knights of the Old Republic

4: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

5: Call of Duty

6: Neverwinter Nights 2

7: Republic Commando

8: The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

9: Halo: Combat Evolved

10: Jade Empire

I had to think a bit, I don't play that many games. :) Possibly, Assassin's Creed will get a place in the list when I get it for PC.

I'm an old-school RPGer...so all the games that blitz my mind are RPGs...don't think I can even name off 10, tho...(I have Fable and Oblivion, but they don't make my list...instantly forgetable..)

1. Mass Effect. (Just barely edged out KotOR for number-one, but the 'OMFG!!' element took it over the edge for me...)

2. KotOR II. Yes, I actually like II better, even unfinished it's dark and murky storytelling. I dream of the day Team Gizka is finished...then it might make it back to Number 1 for me)

3. NWN - HotU

4. KotOR - especially with the Carth romance mod installed..hehehehe..

5. Jade Empire. BioWare = sublime storytelling...yet again

6. Stanglehold. Chow Yun-Fat FTW

7. Divine Divinity. A classic top-down RPG with memorable storytelling. I hear tell they're making a sequel...someday...

8. The Witcher

9. NWN2 - and only because of Mask of the Betrayer

10. Reserved for a total list shuffle - because Baldur's Gate and all the expansion packs are currently in the mail and headed my way...and someday, Dragon Age will be reality...

1. Knights of the Old Republic I&II

2. Devil May Cry I&III

3. Neverwinter Nights I&II (haven't finished 2 yet, but I'm sure it belongs there)

4. Zelda: Ocarina of Time

5. Freelancer

6. Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

7. Guitar Hero I (original and best!)

8. Metal Gear Solid I&II

9. Rebel Assault I&II

10. Jade Empire

This is just a 5 minute rough draft, but it's pretty close I think :)

in no particular order

1. Star Wars Galaxies -Best star wars game (in my opinion) as it lets me play as a trandoshan and do just about whatever i want..too bad the computer i played it on died. -_-

2. Ghost Recon Series -Great tactical shooters, very realistic sounds

3. Splinter Cell Double Agent-lots of 'mini-games' and sneaking around, very cool music

4. Mysteries of the Sith (for map making, i feel old when i think of the times when i was making maps for multiplayer with my friends)

5. Morrowind/Oblivion BEST rpgs ever, love doing whatever i want and making my own path

6. Knights of the Old Republic/The Sith Lords funny as hell dark side choices

7. Descent -my first computer game i played that thing ALOT.

8. Turok Series -Gruesomeness and crazy violence. The game to get me into First Person Shooters was Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. I wasn't disappointed much by Turok Evolution

9. Halo 3 -best in the series, cooperative live rocks.

10. Call of Duty 4 -My favorite game of all time...I just started playing it about 2 weeks ago, it's hard to put it down. Action packed and no holding out on the M+ rating. good ****. :)

1. Super Mario Bros : this game made fall into the wonderful world of video games, and I still haven't beaten the "stellar' part :p

2. KOTOR I : Introduced me to HK-47, nuff said

3. Halo:Combat Evolved : the original title was better IMO, the other felt like expansion packs to me (except for the online and co-op experience of Halo 3)

4. JSRF : awesome graffiti and graphics, along with a nice story and cool characters

5. COD 4 : campaing is cool and the story feels real, nice online experience

6. Mass Effect : another good RPG, nice story and original characters, but it could have been more kickass

7. Bioshock : story was awesome (IMO) and the revelation at the end was cool, plasmids are kickass (it could have been more challenging though)

8. Doom : played it when I was 7 years old, scared the crap out of me but it introduced me to shooter games

9. Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden Black : Decapitation galore! Nice story, revived the ninjas from the shadows, "BLACK" was a nice redo of the game with new monsters and weapons, can't wait for Ninja Gaiden 2

10. Devil May Cry 4 : Dante combo FTW!
