Spent the morning yesterday pulling up tiles from my cellar floor. It was nasty. Many of them were still damp underneath. A lot of mold and mildew. My nose has been running ever since.

But I feel good that I made a start on it. Now I have to wash the floors to get up the glue residue and the mold. I'll probably be using straight bleach. That will be equally unpleasant... but hopefully it will take care of it once and for all.

Went to BJ's to get supplies. Mostly a couple of gallons of bleach.

Then in the evening I over my buddy's place last night for a post-4th cookout. (He needed some help eating all the stuff he bought for the holiday but didn't get a chance to grill... and I was on the scene. :D )

We watched Batman Begins on his big hi-def screen. We are planning an epic group outing to see the sequel on an IMAX screen, and wanted to get all caught up and psyched up for it.

Ike will be happy to hear: the Steve Hackett CD I bought a couple of weeks ago (Spectral Mornings) has become the most played, and one of the favorite albums in my collection.

I'll be running out to finish getting his catalog in my collection very soon.

and i worked til 9pm (oh yeah i was also up at like 4am btw)

We were parked at Halifax Nova Scotia for Canada Day (funny.)

it was nice, got drunk a couple of days and blew 300 bucks at the casino although it was more like 200 and something cus of drinks :joy:

there wasnt any fireworks :(

Although, i did go to that Tattoo the nite before we left, that was nice, although it was all bands, i didnt expect it to be all 'military' like.

so I left after the second act after the intermission

Spent the afternoon at my boss' house, helping him resolve a couple of PC headaches he was having.

It was slow going at first... but we thrashed through it to the other side, and now all is hunky-dory.

Well, sorta...

I just ate 2 pounds of cherries in one sitting.

Everything indicates that this situation will not end well...

I am boycotting IMAX until they go digital.

I saw 300 back to back on IMAX first and then my local place with digital projectors.

digital > imax

imax is just big, so the lack of clarity is worse

not that it still isnt cool......

Yeah... I wanted to see it on a regular screen with a digi projector, but I was alone in that.

Everyone else wanted IMAX.

Still,.. we could end up with a dozen (or probably more...) people in our party when we go. That's the 'Epic" part I spoke of...

Show day at work. Switched out a broken and ancient DAT machine with an even older one that still worked.

Found out that nobody sells them, and very, very few repair them.

Kind of a bummer... because I have a lot of stuff still on DAT that I probably should transfer over to a hard-drive backup one of these days, before the last machine we have conks out and it's all lost forever.

Walked a bit after work this afternoon,.. but it was so hot and sticky out it wasn't at all a pleasant experience.

I'll be hitting bed early. No late nights at all this week... so a lot of early mornings. Hooray?

going to have to wait a few years for digital IMAX. THo to be honest Madison has a 3D IMAX and as long as I sit near the center of the theater I dont notice any distortion on the edges. We do have an "ULTRA screen" and that has some major distortion issues 75 feet wide by 32

FYI most of the movies you see in IMAX are shot in 35mm film yet are Digital Remastered to use IMAX. "The dark knight" has 4 sequences that use 70mm film, marking the first time that a major feature film has been even partially shot using IMAX cameras.

So... zargon.. i think you might be a little misguided in your fanaticism

Well, heading out to London for my cousin's wedding tomorrow. That will suck. I am supposed to play the piano at the wedding, but I had such short notice that I don't really know any of the pieces. So that's good. Then heading to Rome for a few days, which should be awesome.

But you know, vacations are more stressful than work, because you have to make a travel arrangements, spend a trillion dollars, and then while you're away, the work is just getting more and more piled up. I'm already behind, and I haven't even left yet!

I agree. Vacation is a nice way to make work suck more.

Good luck at the wedding.

if you want a fully digital IMAX you are going to have to wait a few years... several before a feature film even starts using full digital cameras. The main reason being is that it cuts into the DVD sales.

I dont think them shooting it in digital affects DVD sales, they are talking more about digital rentals and media more than the digital production.

Couple of slowish days at work.

Still just messin' with the new monitor desk, mostly.

Spent last night cleaning and restringing guitars. Big storms were in the area... so all the electronic stuff was pulled from the grid all night. It was a good night to do that long, LONG overdue chore.

My cousin, the electrician, was over today after work to discuss the possibilities of adding some circuits to the house to ease the burden and toll my insatiable power-consuming habits take on the 50+ year-old wiring in this house that was never meant to handle this kind of draw.

Looks like I'll be switching from the ancient glass fuses to all circuit breakers in the process too. Sweet.

went to gym w/my friend for about 2 hours. it's been about 4 years since i been to one. tomorrow i'm going to be sore all over.

going to a party at my one friend's house on saturday night. that's going to be crazy.

i electrocuted myself wednesday on a camera. intentionally. figured out how to get tazed all you do is take the front "panel" off the circuit board to the flash, make sure the small batteries are plugged in and all, run hands over some water then touch those metal spiky thingies. definitely broke up the boredom of the day, got a little blister on my finger from it.

not to sound like a prick or anything, but last time i was on an airplane, one time use cameras were allowed....this was back in 2004. if one would put in a stronger battery, one could possibly incapacitate somebody?

Uh you would probably be better off just smuggling in a stun gun instead. Since you would need multiple transformers to change the voltage and amps used by the camera, and maybe even an oscillator.

But a Taser/camera combo might be interesting, and you would get some hilarious pictures at the same time!

"Say cheese!"

~~~ZAP!~~~
"No, I said say cheese"
