Also, I don't want any of my statements to cause a argument, so please don't start anything. if you disagree with me, fine.

 

Todays topic:

 

Teenagers, sex and celebrities

 

Lets start with the music they listen to. They listen to rap, hip hop and heavy metal, which are all absolutely disgusting. When they listen to rap, they have no idea what the 'singer' is saying. What happened to all the good rap, like Tricky by Run DMC? Todays rap is just pathetic and a stain on society.

 

Hip hop. What is with this stupid sexual hip hop? Remember the good old hip hop songs like All Day And All Night by the The Kinks? It's all about Britney Spears lately, I mean who cares about her anymore? Shes a pschyo obviously and the best thing to ever do right now is to take her off the media. No one cares anymore. All hip hop singers are drug addicts and alcoholics these days.

 

Heavy metal. A close second of the worst type of music. It's disgusting, all it is is people screaming at the top of their lungs, not being able to decipher any word of it. It gives me a headache just by thinking of it.

 

Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Kiefer Sutherland and many more have been arrested for DUI's. And people still like and support them? Why? Thats my question. Surely you must be brain dead to think of them as your 'idols' anymore.

 

Brad and Angelina. We've had enough of them, get it through your heads media, no one cares anymore. We're sick of them being on every single magazine cover with the same old crappy news all the time.

 

Sex in everyday life. I'm so sick of seeing hot girls half naked every time I go into town. It's on the billboards along the highway, which makes me even more angry. What about all the kids who catch school buses? Make real ads, not stupid 'sexy' ads. It's pathetic.

 

Teenage boys:

 

They all think they're 'cool' and 'top ****'. And they think they're better than everyone else. That does not give them the right to put other people down all the time. They have no respect for anyone but themselves and their 'girlfriends'.

 

Every time I disagree with a cool person and call them a moron for saying something stupid, they always say the same thing:

 

"What did you say to me?".

 

And then they threaten to bash me and give me the 'knock on shoulders'. I seriously hate cool people, their idiots and most of them turn to drugs and kill their brains before they hit 20.

 

And watch out, they might run you over because they were speeding in their 'cool' cars. And when they do kill someone, they apologize and expect people to feel sorry for them because of what they're going through.

 

Teenage girls:

 

Almost all teenage girls wear very short skirts and then complain and whine because someone perved on them. If they don't wanna get perved on, then why wear the short skirt you stupid morons.

 

If you're not 'hot' and they think you're ugly, they will call you names like 'freak' and 'schizo ****'. Oh, they also call you names like that if you aren't the least bit popular.

 

Teenage girls on MSN are what irritate off the most. They add you at first sight if you're in a mass convo with them, they talk with 'how r u 2 nite'. It's also pathetic.

 

And their Personal Message states something like "I'll die if you leave, I need you" about some guy who dumped them. And then you have the gullible girls who flash on webcam because a 'cool' guy wants them to.

 

And then that guy tells all his friends (and me) that a 'girl from school flashed for him'. Whoopty doo. Who cares?

Seriously, you're teen angst will go away in a few years (or morph into some kind of dark side festering hatred ). You need only remember that many of the "cool" kids making fun of you today will likely dead end in the career world as an adult. Many/most of the world's rich and famous probably have more in common with the geeks of youth than the popular ones. Just remember, kids are often stupid and that unfortunately doesn't always change with age.

IMO, there is way to much sexual advertisements, and what not on television, billboards, the computer, you name it. I also am not fond of text talk either. If you are gonna write something, why not make it legible?

Celebrities: honestly most of them are quite pathetic IMO. The stupid things that they do for attention. Horrible if you ask me.

Most of the time, this does happen. I have got to agree with you on that one. Fortunately, I am one of the "big-guys" at school (as in size: Big, tall, strong [so I've heard from nurmerous people] ) so I really don't get a whole lot of that. I honestly have to say that some people are afraid of me. I have no idea why, mainly because that is just not my mentality or personality to do something like that.

I know, with great size, comes with great responsibility. I have learned that size really does intimidate people, even when the people know that I wouldn't hurt them. I find it quite interesting. Just for the record, I am not a bully.

Human beings are driven by the desire to procreate. Companies are driven by the need to survive and turn a profit, so it makes sense that they prey on that most powerful of instincts, the sex-drive, to attract customers. Companies would advertise with anything - be it people being decapitated or something else - if society would allow them to and if it attracted patronage. They are not 'nice' by nature because capitalism is (to quote Tennyson) red in tooth and claw.

 

While I do agree that sexually explicit advertising should be kept off the street - I'm talking about t3h nekkid ladies not women in swimming costumes, here (that's not sexually explicit) - you do have to realise that everything comes back to sex. Everything. If you show a woman smoking a cigarette on a billboard then, subconsciously at least, you have yourself some phallic symbolism and the image sticks in the minds of people to a greater extent than it otherwise would.

I understand what you're saying Pavlos. Even though I'm a 14 year teenage male, and thus my hormones are raging, I still get turned off at sex advertisements for shoes. I mean come on, all you have to say is that these shoes are good, and not have some random chick all dressed up to walk around in a pair of shoes.

 

And in movies, includng TV shoes, it almost always has a sex scene in 'em. I'm watching a horror film and then theres a huge sex scene and I'm going "What the hell does this have to do with the movie? It's a waste of time".

It's Doom Metal, which is a subgenre of Heavy Metal, my sandy friend.

 

You don't always need to know, understand or hear the lyrics to appreciate music, bud. I don't understand Finntroll's Swedish or Gorgoroth's screeching, but the music is very good and so I listen to it. It's like sophisticated art, except it's underrated - and that's good.

 

BTW, the lyrics are apparently "I AM THE ONE!!!" - rather easy, by growl-vocals standards.

I tend to like just music, without the singing ya know? Like I said on MSN, I like TV/movie themes. It's quite soothing taking a break from the same voice over and over.

Man, the good thing about heavy metal is hearing the guitar solos. Man, those are amazing. Like some of them songs by Dragonforce. I usually just ignore the lyrics and just listen to the guitar solos and the drums and what-not.

Meh. Most of the music I listen to "metal" in one way or the other, anyway.

 

Hip Hop and Rap, I doesn't bug me. I used to listen to it a lot, though not as frequently nowadays. I don't mind it. Though, some of this new stuff, I don't fancy too much. Like Soulja boy.... But, I'm not gonna lie, I don't mind 50 Cent, and similar artists. Kanye West is pretty sweet, too. If they want to rap about sex, violence, and whatever, by all means do so. It's just music.

On the music part: Not all Metal has those screamers, you have to look for the good stuff => what you like. I don't like most of those bands, but still I"ve got a Dimmu Borgir CD, I just love the sound. THere something about a growling Gitar that gets me...

 

On top of that I got lots of differant kinds of music, stuff like Primal Scream (its not rock / metal ), moby, Faithless, Deep Purple... I just pick what I like whatever the genre.

 

Anyway, eh... nothing to say really.

The Kinks are generally classified as either pop or rock, not hip hop, FYI. I wasn't aware Britney Spears performed hip hop music. And that's a bit of a nasty generalization to make without supporting argumentation.

Sex sells, there's no two ways about it. Advertisers are out to make money, and they'll do it any way they see fit. So unless the general public become giant prudes, I don't see this changing anytime soon.

I think this is just the culmination of a bad day. Looking into things too much and aiming at a culture you don't understand. I don't understand it, nor do i want to, but i bet at the heart of this is the whole 'I don't know what these people are going to turn into' problem. The sole factor I focus on is me. I'm a constant, i'm aware of the crap that goes on day to day and live in my own little rose-tinted world focusing on myself and those closest to me. Some may consider this ignorant. I consider it my life. It's how i get by. You just have to learn how to shut off those things that "Grind your gears".
