Papership
Basic Overview: (though I think the title is enough of a spoiler) Carth kindly -though entirely unwittingly- stumbles into an ambush that was intended for you. Go find him! That’s it! Okay, I jest. It’s not just a glorified easter egg hunt! This is actually a pretty serious business!... and I’ve tried not to inject too much humour (*cough*). Like any good story, there are twists and turns all over the place. There are a handful of new characters (not too many, I don’t want to warp you out of the world of Kotor!) There are two very-bad-baddies, and a few... not-so-good-goodies. I shan’t say too much more about the plot. If you’re a Carth fan, you’ll definitely enjoy this. If you’re not... well, there’s plenty of opportunity to hurl some abuse at him. And the fact that you’re rescuing him should suggest that he’s not even there for most of the plot! The main antagonist of the story is one *Master Subor. He has his own customised voice files, because nothing in game did justice to his wickedness! You see, Subor is going to single-handedly elevate male Twileks from their laughing-stock status. He's vile! Though his apprentice, Tagoni is an equally nasty piece of work. Here are a couple of images of Subor. I have pictures of Tagoni here, but alas in the wrong format. Tomorrow maybe And one of the poodoo hitting the fan. Play time: Honestly? ...no idea! This was originally going to be 1-2 hours of game play... but quite frankly, it’s starting to look a lot longer. I’ve barely made it past the prologue, and there is already about ¾ hour of quest content – and I haven’t even added in the hack’n’slash, which probably doubles the time <.< Whew. Starting conditions; Leviathan cleared, Korriban cleared, Female PC (naturally having followed the relationship plot). (Sorry MalePCs. I don’t fancy writing 3 varying stories for FemPC Love/Hate & MalePC (maybe in a revised version). FemPC gives the most awesome outcome for this little arc, so you’ll just have to edit a save file!) Why make this? Mainly because modding is brilliant fun. But the reason I chose this particular plotline, is because I felt it would fit nicely within the existing story. For me, the gap between Leviathan and Starforge needed a little something more. Also, Carth plays a huge role in the first chapters of the game, and does very little towards the end. EXACT PROGRESS! I can’t tell you % to end, because the finish line keeps moving away! but I estimate 20%. Here are some scary numbers! At present, and growing; Number of files = 606(!) Modules = 7 ‘Special’ characters = 4 Scripts = 207 (many of which are animations!) Dialogs = 51 Size = 19mb Note; the size won't increase much from here, as the custom npc skins and voice files (aka the big files) are already done and counted. Play time, minus combat = 45min THANKYOU! Thankyou to all you awesome people who wrote tutorials. I've only had to ask 3 questions in the history of this mod - THAT's how good your tuition has been! Also thankyou to those of you who have encouraged me You know who you are. Well, that's where I'm at ^.^ I've been dying to get this off my chest, but I wanted to wait until I had something substantial to report. I may have to cut-pace a bit, cos I'm knackered! I can post regular updates, if people are interested. ~Papership~ * Darth Subor renamed to Master Subor ~ Thx Jon & Silver
Sithspecter
Sounds awesome, Papership! You've made a lot of progres, it sounds like. I can't wait to see what this mod and future ones will be like!

Silveredge9
Looks interesting. But one thing I'm wondering is if Carth plays a 'huge' role in the mod at one point, does he have new dialogue - And if he does, how are you approaching this sound wise? Going to leave it with no sound, or going to record a 'new' voice?
Scatter
yeah, have to say, i'm loving the twilek sith - it really is a great take in that it doesn't go overboard (as most fans are prone to doing).
jonathan7
Looks very good Papership, I look foward to hearing about progress and release =) One question, give KotOR's starts with 'Malak last surviving apprentice of the Dark Lord Revan' are you going to explain how your two Sith Lords game about? Are they Dark Jedi, who have 'seized' the title of Sith Lord?
Papership
@ (Super)Silver: I meant he played a big role in the beginning of the game. But yes, he does have quite a few lines in this mod. How did I do this? =] Well... First, I hunted down all 1000 sound files of his (a gruesome task) Then, I did a LOT of butchering And to top it off?....... I made him FirstPC for a scene or two! Did I win? You guys are awesome! Thanks for the encouragement. I feel a second wind coming! I’ll upload some Tagoni images shortly. After work tho. It’s 2pm in merry old England – aka end of my lunch break! ~Pap~ EDIT! @ Jon. Ah... have I made a cannon mistake? >_< Subor is not a lord. He's just another Sith Master. Like Uthar, etc. Does that mean I shouldn't call him Darth? Do correct me!
Silveredge9
During the KOTOR time period, the Darth Title is only granted to those who are the Dark Lord of the Sith, or the apprentice of a Dark Lord of the Sith. So if your guy is a Sith Master like Uthar, it'd be "Master Subor" just as Uthar is called "Master Uthar" by other Sith.
Marius Fett
Yowzaaa This all looks veeeery nice! I especially like that red twilek skin. Normally i'm not a big fan of tattoos being used on twileks as it just looks tacky, though this is an exception to the rule. Goood luck!
Papership
Thanks Dingdong! Re: "Darth" being reserved for the Sith Lord - I was unaware of that! ^.^ Must have been later when even Chumps like Maul called themselves 'Darth'. Fixed it - Thankyou Jon & Silver! As promised, here is Tagoni. I might do some more work on her. Maybe. ~Pap~

Princess Artemis
I don't ever play K1 male and I'm firmly on the Onasi Side of the Force. I think you know what this means. Seriously though, the two Sith look really good and I'm going to watch for this one impatiently!

Fixed it - Thankyou Jon & Silver! No worries, glad to have been of service. The Sith Lord titles are a funny one, especially given in K2 there is the 'triumphite' of Sith Lords. Later there are Multiple Sith Lords (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/New_Sith_Wars), but it was Revan who originally came up with the 'rule of two'. It is looking very good, keep up the good work, I always play Revan as a female, mainly as I identify more with the Exile as an RPG and my Revan, breaks the mould and a few taboo's by being female and black I greatly look forward to downloading
Darth Payne
Uh, J7? I think it was Darth Bane that came up with the Rule Of Two thing actually. Unless i'm remembering wrong.
jonathan7
Uh, J7? I think it was Darth Bane that came up with the Rule Of Two thing actually. Unless i'm remembering wrong. Bane came up with it after review a Holocron made by Revan Lehon and the Holocron of Darth Revan "The dark side is strong here. Far stronger than it ever was on Korriban. This is where we will find the power to destroy the Jedi—not in Kaan's Brotherhood!" ―Darth Bane[src] Bane landed on Lehon and immediately began his search for the Temple of the Ancients, and along the way managed to tame a wild rancor to be used as his steed. He felt a much stronger connection to the dark side on Lehon than he did on Korriban, which only reinforced his belief that the then-extinct Rakata were the first race to harness the dark side eons before the Sith rose on Korriban.[1] Arriving at the Temple, he found the holocron of Darth Revan. Learning much more about the ancient Sith, he concluded that Kaan and his Brotherhood would have to be destroyed, and set about formulating a way to ensure the survival of the Order. With the teachings of Darth Revan, he planned to destroy the Brotherhood, and from its wreckage, create a new and far stronger Order of the Sith Lords that would eventually destroy the Jedi.[1] Kaan, fearful of Bane and his intentions, dispatched Kas'im to kill his former student. After a heated lightsaber duel, Bane gained the upper hand, and forced Kas'im into a corner, seemingly defenseless. However, the wily old Sith still had one more trick in him. The Twi'lek separated his double-bladed lightsaber, wielding it as two separate blades. During training Kas'im had always derided fighting with two lightsabers, ensuring Bane had no experience facing such an opponent. Where Bane had been sure of victory only just moments before, his inexperience put him at a severe disadvantage, and he quickly lost his momentum. Bane was sent tumbling down a staircase as Kas'im advanced, ready to deliver the killing blow. Furious at himself and Kas'im, Bane unleashed his anger into a blast of dark Force energy. Kas'im just managed to throw up a Force shield to protect himself, but Bane's rage was so great that this blast of dark energy destroyed the Temple, bringing the walls and ceiling down on his old mentor.[1] Bane sent a messenger drone to Ruusan, informing Kaan of Kas'im's death and handing the Sith Lord the weapon of his eventual demise; instructions to perform the Sith ritual to make a thought bomb, one of the many secrets he had learned from Revan's holocron.[4]
spyblade
The reskins are great. I especially like the dialog that is displaying in those screenshots. I look forward to see it all upon release. Nice and clever. Good Luck.
Silveredge9
Bane came up with it after review a Holocron made by Revan I think it's wrong to say that it was Revan who thought up the idea of the "Rule of Two", as that would diminish Bane's importance. Bane created the Rule of Two after having studied Revan's thoughts on the darkside that were present in her holocron, thoughts that Reven, for whatever reason - never actually put into practice. Papership
Why thank you! =] I'm very good at finding ways to evade hard work! Plus I thought people might enjoy playing Carth for a scene or two. Win win, tbh. To all our resident historians... thanks for the history lesson O.o If you want to disagree with each other, there’s a grand 10 page discussion on the origin of ‘Darth’ here. @ Mattz. I’m glad you like those snippets of dialog. There are way better ones I could show you, but I don’t want to ‘spoil’. You ain’t seen nothing yet @ Princess. I know exactly what you mean I shall try not to disappoint you. I’m being very careful with the scenes between Carth and Revan. There’s such a fine line between entertaining/moving/engaging... and outright sappy. I don’t want to cross it. And I’m trying to accommodate everyone’s ‘Revan’ character in the dialogs. Good, bad, sweet, crude, humorous, serious... even those who ‘break the mould’... and what you say does make a difference to subsequent dialog and events (all options do not branch back into a single NPC response & outcome). I’m going to buy a mic after work. I might have a crack at a little NPC cameo voicing. If I can do it without sounding tacky > ~Paper~
