[WIP] “Carth Rescue” Story Expansion [K1]

Haha, at risk of offending you two, I shall confess that I have not played Mass Effect :p yet.

I got tired of scripts today, so I switched to working on one of the quest rewards I've been meaning to sort out. I started working with this tunic model last year. I like it because the butt-flap's narrow and it's hardly used in the game;

Veteran's Shadow

veteransshadow.th.jpg

This armor is fashioned from some kind of hide, but it is unlike any you have encountered. It is soft like suede, yet tough like bark, and with the tarnished shine of weathered steel. There are words inscribed around the belt. "When the last of your allies have fallen, your shadow still stands by your side"

I've been working on scripting this armor to randomly spawn 'shadows' to fight for a short time. But I may or may not do that. Could be a bit overkill ;) Still, even if it does nothing... you get to look kewl.

I am also looking forward to the minigame. I have created the arena, and worked out how to control swoops free-roaming. It's still a total mess tho, lol.

Mass Effect has a sort of very soft "erotic" scene if you push the luuuve part.

Anyway, its not really needed in games, well the HOT COFFEE variant

The skin looks like to have a good start, though I think it falls a little flat now with all the grey. I would gamble to bring in something of slightly differant color tone, dark or lighter to bring back some contrast and spunk.

But, hey, it looks ace and smexcy on Carth, he stays a whining little boy though :xp:

Well, thank you lovely people for explaining. YouTube filled in the blanks :p

Mmm, I don't think the animations of KotOR have the capability for a love scene, though there may well be a little intimacy. (caugh)

That is what this mod is trying to address. There is zero whining and much, much awesomness! If I can convert you, my friend, then I consider the thing a success :p

As for wanting color on the V.S. armor... I shall do a rainbow jellybean version just for your override ;) But for now, well, I have experimented with 2-tone versions and allsorts, but because of what it is, I don’t want it to be too vibrant. I have however added the slightest tint of teal as per your advice, which does perk it up a little.

Ooh, sounds interesting, its time games are seen as a full medium to depict stories, so that means some more what serious to the adult side.

And I don't mean porn, there's a ton of good films out there that did it tastefully :p

But I'm sure you have a good kiss scene prepared.

That'll be hard to do, my Revan is mostly male :p

But we'll give it a change, need to replay Kotor for like 20th time for this, but no pain no game

hahahahhaha, that wasn't really my point: Its just that flat grey is well, dull and flat. You just need a faint impression of hue of colour to make it a bit more interesting.

But it seems you're on top of things and it was merely a suggestion. So whatever you do is up to you really :p

As wild fan suggestion can get you nowhere to!

Besides dark robes often end up being the clothes of the enemies.

I wonder whats up with that, that they get the cool clothes and you need to rob them of it after you killed them.

Videogames do give wrong sick ideas; LMAO.

The kind you get bored off quickly, but does give you a nice bag of coins every month, but you wished you'd never had to go back because you like to do more fun things :D

The swoop destruction derby is staying! It'll take forever to programme, but there's no way I'm dropping this crash-crazy insanity (PC crash that is). Escpecially after all the modelling work Lovely Sithspec did for me.

~PaperPoof!~

Oh, fabulous! I can't tell you how much I would enjoy wrecking some of those stupid swoop bikes. (I'm an awful swoop racer.) I'm so glad you're continuing this project. I'm always disappointed when you finish all the conversation options and there is no more flirting. There is never too much Carth.:D

The Shadow Armor looks very cool with the hint of teal. Very sexy!

Thanks all!

Query: Will this mod be compatible with Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge and Weapons of the Old Republic?

Answer: I'm doing all I can to keep it compatable and tiptoe around all the major mods. I believe it will be. I've carefully avoided any globals already in use and have named all my files in such a way that they should be unique. Course, everyone's Override is different. I can't guarentee, but I will get expert help to ensure maximum compatability when it is time to install.

I hope that's a sufficient answer for you :)

@Laar: I am also an aweful swoop racer. That's actually what inspired this minigame! :p

I'm dying to post screenies of the swoop module I've created, but I think I will wait until it is fully populated - to wow you with the full effect! Suffice to say I'm very pleased with it.

You're evil, I hope you know this, taunting us with the thoughts of what could be happening? :xp:

Cheers people. My poop 2 hours sleep last night was worth it.

Requests: If anyone has any feedback on what they think would make for the best (albeit only) swoop-wreck game ever, I am open to requests.

Glitches: If anyone spots a glitch that they don't think I've noticed, please do raise a hand and say something :) Obviously things like character names and a mad Tukata running around I am aware of. Note; the video was taken on fraps, from lots of little cuts and with low framerate. So ignore the jumpiness.

L.O.H: Well, thank you! Indeed I have been battling with the swoop scripts for the past week. But it was worth it.

Tomak the Tukata: Yes, one of the rewards for this story arc is "Tomak's Collar" which will allow you to call Tomak to you. She will have her own dialogue options and strange little 'behaviours'. Beware that she will...

[a] wander off

attack anything, no matter how far away

[c] flatten Carth, who she's not fond of (or is overly fond of, depending on how you want to interpret it!)

[d] not be dismissible - she'll leave when she chooses to

...so calling for her is asking for trouble >:3 You've been told.

Anyway, I did make a video for "Tomak's Collar". Seems I never posted it :p Maybe, if you're good little forumites, I may dig out for a later post!

Well, I had better get back to work-work.

That looks crazy fun. :thmbup1: I like the look of your area reskin also; it looks very consistent with Korriban's environment. Jawa's may not be cannon on Korriban, but I bet they'd love the opportunities of a demolition arena. They could have a lovely little used swoop parts shop.;)

Player: “Why are there Jawas here?!

Racsal: “Someone has to fix and maintain all these swoops. Jawas are good little mechanics.”

Player: “So are pit droids.”

Racsal: “We had pit droids. But people kept stripping them down for parts! At least no one tries to strip Jawas.”
