what there are decent wetas?

i suppose those two gave me a bad impression.

took me a whole can of bug spray to kill em. but 'weta' wasnt on the can as targeted species...

That is probably why it took a whole can.

I take it that you are a entomologist? I don't think that I would have the guts to have a job like that. Kudos to you Inyri. :golfclap:

Especially if I don't like these guys. They creep around in my room in the summer. I don't like them.

It's a Camel Spider and it's the coolest arachnid thingy ever.
Sithy, I didn't ask what species it was, I asked what its name was. >.>

Camel spiders are not spiders, btw!

@Quanon: First piccy, kyooooot! Second piccy, is that an antlion?

@Ctrl Alt Del: Take your bunny and go die in a fire full of camel spiders. >.>

They look like those whipspiders (not real spiders, but close family)

Since where on the spiders and look-alikes, this one has pretty colours and lives in the sea: the mighty vicious MANTIS SCHRIMP

Inyri, to semi-answer your original question, I know someone from New Zealand (she doesn't live there anymore, however. Sorry :(). I mentioned the word "weta" to her, and she was suddenly excited, and mentioned that she had seen her fair share just centimeters from her.

She also mentioned the word "taurate," or something with a similar spelling to that. Something of interest, perhaps?
