GwannaSauna Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 ...if TOR only comes out for PC. I mean, PC-only SW games are OK, but consoles are where it's at. Yes, my computer is good enough to play video games on it, but I'm not gonna play a PC game. I mean, Galaxies control scheme was hard enough, so I really really really really hope it comes to, oh, let's say, XBOX 360?
Ztalker Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 right. and you wanted to activate your 35 skills with the 4 buttons on your 360? PC is logical choice for these games.
Jeff Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Old Republic is PC Only So yeah don't count on it coming to your 360. There were rumors about EA wanting to make it for consoles but LA shot them down with this.
Zwier Zak Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Console gamers get a lot moore games annyway ;/ We need MORE PC only games.
Da_man Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Old Republic is PC Only I imagine this from the huge mobs of people protesting TFU because it wasn't on the PC?
Jeff Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Maybe, probably because MMOs are traditionally on PC and it would be harder to make it cross platform. But it is good to know LucasArts wasn't lying during TFU development when they said they definitely haven't forgotten about the PC.
SW01 Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 As I recall Sony talked about releasing Galaxies on PS2. That fell through as well. As said, it would probably be impracticable to bind all actions to a few keys - unless we are to pause and select an action from a menu. Which would be awful. As much as I would prefer the better graphical quality of my PS3 (as opposed to my own computer), it seems better to keep it on PC. It would likely have much more range and depth than would be possible with a console.
Sir Vougalot Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 I have to say I disagree with the thread author. A large part of the PC games' charm is the modding capabilities, which bring a new sense of freshness each time I play.

Scars Unseen Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 I've played two MMOs that had console releases: Phantasy Star Universe and Final Fantasy XI. FFXI had the most horrible and unintuitive UI I've ever seen short of Battlecruiser 3000AD, and PSU was dumbed down far beyond even most console games. Yeah. PC only please.
Sir Vougalot Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Don't expect there to be much modding going on besides UI editing with an MMO. I'm aware of this, but I was speaking of games in general.
Jeff Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 I'm aware of this, but I was speaking of games in general.Ah, gotcha. Then I would agree with you.
Da_man Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Don't expect there to be much modding going on besides UI editing with an MMO. I beg to differ. They could do the sort of thing they did with Garry's Mod online, where if you don't have a mod on a server, the game downloads them for you before you join.
Ganan Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I dont know what you mean... all mmorpgs are PC... the very basis engine for an mmorpg envolves mouse look systems and mouse based interactivity... I dont see why not come out on xbox but I think everyone in mmorpgs comunities would be much more discontent if it were NOT coming on PC

Guest DarthMaulUK Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 The problem is that consoles are NOT PCs. A console simply can't process all that data.
SW01 Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Well, I just hope it's good... A sentiment I'm sure we all share...

I don't want to use a hand controller to play games like this, they are not action FPS style games!
GeneralPloKoon Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I sure hope this does NOT come to 360, there is enough bad games already. Plus the PC fans haven't gotten an LA game on PC in a while.

TKA-001 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Funny that the reverse was one of the reasons given for why the TFU didn't come out for PC... That's because TFU's issue was processing of all the graphics and physics and such. I assume that's not the issue here.
Blix Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Playing this game would only be a problem if it was exclusive to Xbox 360; which given two weeks won't be a problem anyway
