Lynk Former
THE heavens smiled down on all of us last night, and stargazers couldn't be happier. Venus, Jupiter and the Moon created the spectacular display of a smiling, heavenly face, says the Astronomical Society of South Australia. Venus and Jupiter have been moving closer together in the sky over the past few nights. They had started to look like a set of car headlights, but now the moon is changing the effect. JediMaster12
I saw this and I commented that it was unusual. Now I know that it was Venus and Jupiter that were unusually bright. Wow was my expression.
jrrtoken
Strange, when I saw that, Venus and Jupiter were vertically parallel to each other. Does that mean that the Universe it turning its head in curiosity towards me, like an owl?
Litofsky
The stars align in our favor, fellow LFers! We must send envoys to the Moon, posthaste! At any rate, that's some pretty cool stuff. Leave it to the Universe coupled with Human perception to find something like this.
Achilles
Original post yeah, I saw this with my son last night as we were leaving the movie theater. We've been watching Jupiter overtake Venus for several weeks now and were both looking forward to seeing them switch. The crescent moon "smiley" was an unexpected bonus
