Salzella
huh, tried getting one of them to work via emulator. failed. i wants one soo much! i find myself browsing online pokedexes and constructing teams in advance which one feel is a bad sign :/
Lynk Former
Emulator's suck. Buy a DS and get Pokeymanz
Revan 411
I would buy this if it only costs $34 bucks. Unfortunately, the price is a bit steep here ($44 ) so I'll have to wait until it drops down to at least $30. But isn't this just a remake of an older Pokemon game? The reason why I bought Diamond was because it wasn't some port or remake of another Pokemon game, but was instead an original installment and the first true Pokemon game on the DS. (I'm sorry, but Pokémon Mystery Dungeon was crap.)
Mav
Amazon dropped the ball on my pre-order so I wont be getting my copy until sometime next week, but I can't wait until I have this guy following me on my epic journey. Edit: @GenericNumberedRevan - yeah it's a remake, but it's a remake of Gold and Silver, only the best Pokemon games ever made, educate yourself
Lynk Former
@ Salzella: The Gold and Silver generation is hands down THE BEST generation and has you travelling through Johto AND Kanto on an epic quest instead of just one place like every other game... and then at the very end is the most epic boss battle ever... Rogue Nine
Time to introduce my team for the time being and what I'm working towards: Backfire the Typhlosion - fire specialist, knows Flame Wheel, Swift, Blast Burn and Lava Plume. One of my heavy hitters when I need something good and dead. Belinda the Dragonair - dragon poke and my long-term project. Knows Slam, Draco Meteor, Surf and Dragon Rush. Can't wait to evolve her into a Dragonite, but gorramn is it a long road to lvl 55! Jet the Pidgeot - flying specialist and wild poke catcher. Knows Fly, Twister, Gust and Quick Attack. The GSC generation is really handicapped when it comes to good bird pokes and I didn't want to rehash a Starly from D/P, so I went with an old favorite. Rayden the Jolteon - speed demon and all-around superstar. Knows Thunderbolt, Quick Attack, Double Kick and ThunderShock. My favorite Eevee evolution and a quick bastard to boot. Hits hard, hits fast and doesn't take any prisoners. Jed the Torterra - grass and ground specialist. Knows Razor Leaf, Earthquake, Giga Drain and Bite. Three different attack types make Jed the most versatile of my pokes, plus he's pretty much the coolest leaf starter since Bulbasaur. Spoonz the Alakazam - psychic specialist. Knows Psycho Cut, Psybeam, Calm Mind and Recover. I use him mostly for Psybeam, so I can't want to level him up so he learns more crazy Psychic attacks. But isn't this just a remake of an older Pokemon game? They're remakes of Gold and Silver, which came out a decade ago, so I think it's okay for them to redo it now. Salzella
but I can't wait until I have this guy following me on my epic journey. total respect for that choice my man. @Lynk Former: yeah, damn good games. i once had a bootleg singaporean version of silver that worked smooth as dammit and cost about 5 pounds. good times. god only knows where that's got to. re: getting a DS - if only! however since that would involve shelling out a good 100 squids, and that's like 40 pints of lager, **** that ****. so i will continue to struggle to find a working version and also continue playing FireRed and pretend that it is any sort of consolation. hrrumph. nice team btw R9! particularly that little yellow spiky scamp, 'natch. Revan 411
the best Pokemon games ever made Debatable. I never played Gold or Sliver, but I do have fond memories of the Pokemon Stadium games for the Nintendo 64... Anyway, what are the main differences between HeartGold and SoulSilver? Or are they basically the same and contain the same amount of content?
Sabretooth
huh, tried getting one of them to work via emulator. failed. Ha ha. You do not possess the Internetskillz and Emulatoledge to do it properly.
Salzella
perhaps so! tried a lot of different things now though, including some - apparently - pretty surefire fixes for several different emulators. i am now moving on from technical glitches to supernatural intervention in my attempts to explain it >.<
TriggerGod
Anyway, what are the main differences between HeartGold and SoulSilver? Or are they basically the same and contain the same amount of content? If its anything like the other 20 pokemon games, the only differences should be what pokemon appear and what pokemon don't. Of course, there can be other slight differences.
Astrotoy7
I've never played a pokemon game - is Team Rocket in it? I had a thing for the Team Rocket Girl(?Jessie) back when I was a youngster... I love redheads and enjoyed her flair for the dramatic Hawt! EDIT: Shame on you who PMd me Hentai links *dashes off* mtfbwya
Rogue Nine
Team Rocket is in the game and are the primary antagonists, but Jessie and James appear only in the anime for the most part. Their lone game appearance is in Pokemon Yellow.

True_Avery
MY POKEMANZ, LET ME SHOW YOU THEM Typhlosion, Pikachu, Pidgeot, Milotic, Golem, HMSLAVE! Also, buy a DS. Pokemanz is more entertaining than beer, and if you disagree then you don't deserve TO BE THE VERY BEST, THAT NO ONE EVER WAS
Rtas Vadum
Compared to the rest, the only thing that takes these down a level, even if it is a somewhat small detail, is the removal of the Game Corner. Or rather the removal of the slots, and replaced with a Minesweeper-like game, "Voltorb Flip". Doesn't matter how much I suck at MineSweeper, I was pretty good with the Slots. The reason for this? Europe's policies on Gambling, and the recent Merger of the Pokemon Companies of the US and UK.
Rogue Nine
Lance is a goddamn hacker. THREE Dragonites?! All under level 55?! Luckily I have a Dragonite and she knows Draco Meteor.

Ping
I'm in Mahogony town atm, team consists of Crocanaw, Noctowl, Graveler, Gloom, Magmar, and Flaaffy. Going to catch me a Red Gyrados. @Lynk Former: Cool pic. Red kind of looks like Sasuke or Itachi from Naruto. The only thing I'm sad about is that they replaced Espeon with Lapras in the remake. Oh well.
Lynk Former
@ Lynk Former: Cool pic. Red kind of looks like Sasuke or Itachi from Naruto. The only thing I'm sad about is that they replaced Espeon with Lapras in the remake. Oh well. Yeah, that's cause they're trying to make him more like Ash/Satoshi since in the anime he never had an Eevee/Espeon but did have a Lapras. Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) I got SoulSilver yesterday, on my way to getting the fifth badge in Cianwood City. I've got my trusty Typhlosion named Inferno (the name I gave it in the original Silver) and also two HM slaves... a TROPIUS that knows Fly, Cut, Flash and Rock Climb and a BIBERAL that knows Surf, Strength, Rock Climb and Waterfall... I'm gonna have to get a third one some time to so I can add Headbutt and Wirlpool to the list. That's all I really need lol. I just battle everyone using the same Pokemon in the story and then once I've gotten all of the badges I start training up a proper team.
Salzella
yay, got heartgold working! my team is... a Cyndaquil and a Spearow. don't be hatin! nevermind, replaced spearow with a hoothoot, for the simple reason that when it evolves it's nickname 'Kaepora' will make a lot of sense. I'm naming all mine after things from the Zelda universe - my Cyndaquil is called 'Bombflower' the resemblance is uncanny
Dread Advocate
im glad GF finally remade GSC. normally i welcome chaneg to this series of games, but i dont welcome having my lead pokemon following me everywhere. i found it extremely annoying in Yellow. and in the original GSC, i didnt really enjoy the inclusion of Kanto. i felt that it took the attention Johto deserved away. i still feel that way. i dont care if Kanto is in 3D now. it doesnt matter to me. but anywhay, i do look forward to creating my dream team of Feraligatr, Typhlosion, Meganium, Noctowl, Scizor and Lanturn
Rogue Nine
Time for an update! Backfire the Typhlosion - fire specialist. Knows Flamethrower, Swift, Blast Burn and Lava Plume. One of my heavy hitters when I need something good and dead. Currently at level 53. Belinda the Dragonite - dragon poke and part of my Big Three of heavy hitters. Knows Blizzard, Draco Meteor, Surf and Dragon Rush. Finally got her evolved before I had to take on Lance and it paid off, especially with Blizzard and Dragon Rush. Now I use her to just kill the **** out of everything. Currently at level 62. Luggles the Lugia - flying specialist, taking over for my now-retired Pidgeot. Knows Extrasensory, Hydro Pump, Fly and Aeroblast. Was actually pretty easy to catch at level 45 (I think I only used 4 Ultras and one Fast Ball) and now serves as my flyer with a couple of extra attacks. Currently at level 53. Rayden the Jolteon - speed demon and all-around superstar. Knows Thunderbolt, Thunder Fang, Double Kick and Thunder Wave. My favorite Eevee evolution and a quick bastard to boot. Using him now for capturing new pokes in Kanto with Thunder Wave. Currently at level 56. Jed the Torterra - grass and ground specialist. Knows Razor Leaf, Earthquake, Giga Drain and Bite. Three different attack types make Jed the most versatile of my pokes, plus he's pretty much the coolest leaf starter since Bulbasaur. Currently at level 53. Spoonz the Alakazam - psychic specialist. Knows Psychic, Psybeam, Calm Mind and Shadow Ball. Very versatile piece to my team, takes on most Fighting, Normal and Ghost pokes I encounter. Currently at level 54. Rawr the Tyranitar - Ground and Rock specialist. Knows Earthquake, Rock Slide, Stone Edge and Crunch. With an Atk stat over 210, Rawr pretty much kills the hell out of everything I throw her at. Currently at level 59. Currently working through Kanto, got Misty in Cerulean up next. Trying to take my time with the game so I don't get burned out on pokeymans like I did with Platinum. Also trying to figure out if I want to add a Water and a Fighting specialist to my loadout.
Ping
My Flaaffy just evolved, and I got to trade and re-trade my Graveler to my bro, so now my line-up looks like this: Golem, Noctowl, Ampharos, Feraligatr, Gloom, Magmar. I just crashed Team Rocket's party at Goldenrod, so now it's off to Blackthorn.
