oh, need a good speaker or whatever setup to hear that absorb sound :)

haha, me being a muso, i don't use speakers (jus really cool DT100 headphones w/ TEAC BX-300 power amp) :) yes, headphones with a power amp, ooh big sound!!! ('cept u don't feel it which is disappointing) would like to upgrade the DT100s one day, or move to a surround set of wharfedale or jamo speaker setup...

cheers!!!

Heh, I've nothing to brag about, but I'm curious about what kinda of power is behind my fellow boardmembers Jedi Outcast installation:

Here is my setup:

Intel 820 chips,

P3 EB 800MHz

392 MB PC800 RDRAM

GeForce 2 Pro w/64MB DDR-RAM

IBM 60GXP 100GB HDs

SB L!VE soundcard

HP M900 19" monitor (game@100Hz)

OS: Windows XP Pro

(Sorta streamlined - all unnecessary crap turned off:))

ISP: 5 Mbit Cable, but that doesn't really make any difference

when playing JO.

I have just as much lag as anyone else:rolleyes:

Running JO at 1024*768*32 with full detail (and loving it:p).

If this thread has been done to death then don't reply:)

Edit: well, thread seems to be well received ...nice to see your specs. guys. I noticed a person including his/her ISP connection so I will put mine on the list also :)

Edit2: As lexx pointed out: some of us may actually be using an OS to run this game *LOL*

...mine is now on the list..thanks lexx :amidala:

Edit3: Twins CLAIM that one can use a monitor and soundcard:D

.....mine has been added

ISP: Internet Service Provider (don't slam me now:))

When forced to use my own pc, I'm suffering on an:

800 mhz athlon

128 mb RAM

Absolutely excellent tnt2 card...

and an action packed 20 gb harddrive...

But since my father isn't home much, I tend to use his:

1800 mhz p4

512 mb RAM

Ge-force 2 mmx

60 gb harddisk.

As for resolution, I tend to follow the "less is more"-philosophy...

Ahem.... LOW resolution, can't remember exactly though....

lol cjais! I used to do that too, and my dad would always be like, "HEY!! Who turned the brightness on the monitor up?!" He liked having the brightness so low you couldn't see a thing. But it WAS easier on your eyes. ANYways, hehe . . .

Now all our computers are equally crappy.

733 mhz P3

128 mb ram

Intel 810 video chipset

6 gig hard drive

I have all the video settings down to "Bob Saget's acting career" quality.

GrrrrR

hehe... :) me 2... only thing that's somewhat respectable is that i'm using 32bit colour rather than 16bit... hehe...

600mhz P3 (actually 450mhz, overclocked - been like that for years)

320mb ram

asus tnt2 ultra (woohoo, video input and output!!!) - haha, hafta make a jk2 movie someday

20 and 40gb hard drives

my other system (actually mine, but now my brother uses it all the time) is a bit better... we play duels a fair bit...

800mhz athlon

320mb ram

geforce 2 mx

30gb hdd

anywayz, i thought i'd be upgrading my ol' dinosaur these holz (dual athlon 1.8ghz, radeon 8500 all in etc...), but that plan's kinda fallen thru... ah well, decent enough framerates allow me to play a good game anywayz... :)

cheers

have an aging piii 800, geforce2.

Still plays games pretty well, I do have to turn down details on some of the latest releases though (like nwn).

I can play jk2 on highest settings on duel servers, to do any big CTF games I really gotta crank things down to keep FPS reasonable though.

LOL slacker, my dad freaks out whenver he finds out that his beloved game's cd isn't in the cd-drive.... And whenever something mean happens to his pc I have to take the blame...

"Bob saget's acting career"-quality.... *LOL*.... It doesn't really matter to me how ugly a game is, as long as it's smoooth!

Guess I'll contribute as well. It's a pure gaming and number crunching machine since that's what I do in real life.....

21 in Sony Trinitron monitor

P4 1.8Ghz (Overclocked to 2.0Ghz)

ASUS P4T-E MB

512 MB PC800 RDRAM

WD 80 GB 7200RPM Drive

SB Audigy Platinum Internal

Pioneer A04-DVD R/RW

Sony 56x CD Drive (faster for games that access the CD)

ASUS GF3-V8200 Video Card (Looking at the G4-4600 tho)

Video, processor, and front-side-bus are overclocked so I'm running a better case now:

Windtunnel IV from Coolerguys.com (windowed with a 400wt ps)

And if you take off the Sony monitor it only cost me $1300 to build.

Anyway....
