do u believe in fate or not?

i mean, do u think the outcome of ur life is determined (whatever u do, u still come to the same point, like destiny) or do u think ur life is about coincedence and making choices???

for example:

there is this girl i really like, but we never had a chat before. i went to a party last night and she was there. a friend off mine was taking some pics and asked us to pose for a pic. after the pic we started talkin and u know ...

was that coincedence or fate?

Hmmm, you copped off with some girl that you like and all of a sudden it's fate working it's twisted hand?

Wait a few weeks until fate has taken you to a bar, got you drunk, lost your car keys and stolen your wallet. If fate does exitst he's got a f@##ing twisted sense of humour.

Balance that out with all the times where the girls have ignored you, turned you down or moved off to Nottingham to buy a house with that bloke that you were sure that it was over with and besides which wasn't nearly as good looking or as funny as I am, and I'll tell him so next ime I see his little munchkin face the slimy, flea infested goat lover.

Sorry. I'm ok now.

Ah, but no matter what you do, or how much you try to control what you do, what makes you think that it wasn't fate for you to do so?

But what your experience sounds like is just a lot of coincidence and luck. Not to play it down - I mean, it worked out great!

No, because I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my own destiny. ;)

But just because you don't like the idea doesn't mean that it can't be true. ;)

There doesn't have to be. Perhaps these things just happen without being part of a grand design or something.

fate is for lazy people. i believe its up to you to determine your future.

getting pulled over by a cop when you have drugs in your car thats stupidity.

oj being innocent, well we all know he paid the judge.

and getting hit by a bus while walking now thats just bad luck.

but if the bus reverses and run over you again, thats god saying he hates you.

things happen for a reason.

Hmmmmm....

No, I don't believe in fate per se, but as lexx put it: Every action has a reaction.

Take the butterfly example: A butterfly in china flaps its wings and because of that it starts raining in New York. Why? Because the tiny puffs of air generated by that escalates into huge winds that further develops into pouring rain over NY....

So, if I move my hand like *this*, it will mean I'm going to die in a car accident when I'm 28.... Freaky! :eyeraise:

Kunoichi - Female Ninja

The Kunoichi were a secret sisterhood in Ancient Japan. These women were experts in deception and masters of assassination. Female shrine attendants, concubines and servants moved about a Feudal Lord's castle with ease. Since these women went virtually unnoticed, they were capable of committing acts of espionage with little or no interference.

Kunoichi-jutsu revolves around the art of deception. These warrior-women base their training on surprise tactics and hidden weapons. A Kunoichi never wastes time or energy in combative situations. Their unarmed fighting and weaponry skills make use of strategically placed vital attacks that are designed to incapacitate their opponents very quickly.

Ever-vigilant, the Kunoichi is never a victim. Although she may appear weak and helpless, it is a ruse. In reality, the Kunoichi uses her outward appearance and conditioned emotional responses to manipulate those who would cause her harm.

believing in fate isn’t logical, fate would say that everything is planned and is going to happen no matter what... We'll without coincidence there would be no fate... so they are all bound together in some way.

One thing cannot exist without it's opposite, For example:

Without Hate there would be no Love

Without Fear there would be no Comfort

ETC...ETC...

So, I being a Christian believe and KNOW that we have a choice, but God does know the outcome

And I DARE one of you collage students studying religion to tell me otherwise

To me, fate is what is pre-determined, something that will inevitably happen, no matter what. Your fate is mapped out long before you even existed, and I don't believe in fate. The only fate I believe in, is my final one.

However, destiny on the other hand... Destiny to me is the consequences of your actions, and your choices. Because you chose the red pen over the blue pen, something happens. However, if you had chosen the blue pen instead, perhaps it may not have happened, but you'll never know because your destiny changed because of that choice. Also, because of that particular choice you just made, you are destined to have to make another choice, based on the outcome of the earlier one. That's destiny, and to me destiny and fate are two separate and distinct things.

Because of destiny, and realizing the consequences of your actions, you can kind of "predict" what may happen next, I've done it plenty of times myself. Even co-incedences can be covered under this, as a co-incedence is when two destinies co-incide(ya like that one :D), and cross paths. Because of a choice you made, and a choice that a friend you haven't seen in 10 years made, you are destined to meet, at a certain time, at a certain place. But unlike with fate, it's not pre-determined, it's still subject to change, so you can't be completely sure if this particular destiny will occur. "Always in motion, the future is":yoda:

So do I believe in fate... no. Do I believe in destiny... well, let's just say I'm not dismissing the idea as easily as I do fate;)
