ckcsaber
In brief, the GeForce FX promises to be fast and have plenty of forward-looking features. The chip is clocked at 500MHz, as is the 128-bit DDR2 memory, which has an effective speed of 1GHz. While Nvidia hasn't announced specific products, a high-end card in the $400 range is expected first. http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/news/0,10870,2897904,00.html Another new graphics card. EVEN more expensive than the last! I for one believe that all these new graphics cards are bad news for gamers. Yes, the newer games have better graphics than the last. THATS ALL. So now all the games that go into development in the future will be based around this new $400 graphics card. Which means if we wanna play that new game we have to buy the new graphics card and spend even more money. This is ridiculous. I bought a Geforce 3 one year ago. I was happy cause i could play all the new games. NOW there is already a Geforce 4 and this even more expensive GEFORCE FX coming out. So now I will be forced to buy this expensive video card or not play all the cool new games. Whats your take?
Taos
I would do it to play a new game......but only if that game was promising to be incredible. Such as KOTOR!! I would buy a new card for that game if one was required. Expenses..........well, that's something that all of us will have to look at individually. Rogue15
I'm blowing my first Paycheck on a Geforce 4 for PCI (this awesome compaq doesn't have agp, but it seems to run most games perfectly fine since I've slammed 256 additional ram to the 64 it originally had, just imagine how fast it'll run w/that geforce4!!!) and 4.1 Surround Sound Speakers. -s/<itzo-
i would buy a new one if my card is really out of date. i got a Geforce 2 mx/mx 400. is that old???????
Kstar__2
why would you by a new one, if your old one is fully surported by all the new games. there is really no use of buying a new one, if the current one still works fine. my two cents
