tragedy.

sometimes it seems that is the only constant in life. im in a very bad mood as 3 of my friends are in the hospital right now. we were driving along too fast and we smashed into a lightpost. i think we're all ok but im very shook up.

it all was such fun earlier. we were driving along having good times, we got behind a cop car earlier in the night and nick (who was sitting copilots side) hit the horn a few times, richelle (the driver) was pissed. we went to a party but we werent really wanted there cuz it was kinda small so we left. she was upset so i guess she wasnt thinking too much about the road. im the only one who remembers clearly what happened. it was crazy, i think ill be postponing my own driving lessons for a while. as soon as we hit i couldnt breathe, we had all screamed i remember that clearly. at first it seemed like a dream and i would wake up, thanks for listening to me rattle, i just need to get this off my chest. lifes crazy.

my neck hurts where the seatbelt cut it. its like a really really nasty rugburn and my upper right chest still hurts. my friends will be ok im sure of it. nicks ankle got hurt but other then that he seemed fine, kyle was out of it but no physical damage, richelle had no visible damage except a seatbelt burn on her neck like mine, im worried bout her mental state though. kind of freaky, i almost wish i couldnt remember those seconds before the crash. i talked to them outside of the ambulance while we were waiting for the car to be moved and none of them remember the last few seconds. my life didnt flash before my eyes and i didnt see a light or any of those cliche's but for a while i couldnt breathe. the whole front end of the car is shaped like a U now where we hit the post. im just glad no other cars were involved, we got off awfully lucky. i hate hospitals but my mom wants me to go to one anyways. the funny thing was though, that while i was being driven home by the police officer he wasnt wearing his seatbelt. that seemed very strange to me but i know im remembering things right.

the first thing i did after i got my breath was pick up my headphones which had snapped and put them back around my neck, in retrospect i have absoultely no idea why i did that. ive been trying to reach the other people at the party, they were expecting richelle to go back later on and they might get worried. i havent been able to track down the number though. thanks for your concern it really is appreciated. it makes me wonder though, of those people who disappear from the forums and never return: what happened to them? did they move on to new games and new forums or did they move on to a different plane of existence, i guess im just feeling philosophical right now but i dont think any of you would ever know why i dissapeared if things had gone differently tonight. kind of scary.

Yeah...that is scary.

I'd hate to think that if I never came back to this place, people would think it's cuz I decided that it wasn't fun or something.

Remember ppl, one thing would keep me from coming back to this place:

...And that thing is death.

So there. Glad you're not injured badly Talliusc.

i'm glad you made it out alive.

hope your friends are ok.

there was a car crash near my house a couple of months ago. it was raining that night and i guess they were driving too fast. there were 5 people in the car and no one survive. they had a memorial. it was really sad.

This reminds me of the time when a car rammed into my bike (with me on it) at driving speed - I escaped with only a bruised arm and a nerveous stare in my eyes, whereas my bike's front fork looked like it had had an intimate encounter with Hulk. And I was 20 km from home. The f*ck.

Anyways, glad you're as okay as you sound like.

thanks for your support guys. i just really needed to talk about it last night and here seemed convenient as most of my friends were out partying or sleeping.

i got final word back from the hospital, they were all releaesed and suffered mino injuries. the guys were told to take painkillers and sleep it off, our driver wasnt so lucky. she got a broken arm and some whiplash. its scary but i cant stop playing those few seconds over in my brain. just gotta keep on living though.

Don't worry, you'll get over it in time. I've been in 3 RTAs (Road Traffic Accidents) in my time, one when I was a kid, the other two within the last 10 years. I was a passenger in the vehicle every time...and every time it was the other driver's fault.

It does shake you...and those moments will probably remain with you for quite a time...but you'll get over it.

Good to hear that nobody lost their life, and they were only minor injuries. All I can say is...take care out there. The situation on the roads is getting worse anyway, so don't go mad, or buy into the road=race-track culture that seems to be springing up...

thanks for everybodys concern. it really means alot to me. i went to a physio therapist today and ive got a doctors appointment tomorrow. the physiotherapist thinks i might have a cracked rib and maybe screwed up some joints in my neck, im going to have my doctor run some x-rays to tell.

both of the guys in the accident were at school today, kyle was stoned off tylenol 3's so he wasnt all there but its good to know hes returning to his daily schedule. nick seems completely fine, just his feet back and neck hurt. im still trying to get in contact with our driver but i'll assume her day went fine :D

school was annoying to be honest. because of this big red gash on my neck from the seatbelt just about everybody asked me what happened. i know its just them showing that they care but it tends to grate after a while. every one of them wants the whole story and to be honest id rather not think about the whole thing all that much. ive heard that i might get some "muscle memory" released in physio. does anybody know if that actually happens? where the release of tension in the cramped up muscles causes you to remember more fully the event. im kind of hoping that that wont be the case.

anyways ive got at least a month of physiotherapy ahead of me, twice a week. but my necks healing nicely and should be better in a few days.

thanks again everybody.

i was in a bad accident too, my freind was driving too fast around old country roads, he went around a corner lined with grit, and skidded off into a field, but the road was about 1 meter above the field, so the car spun over two and a half times. The car was wrecked (gold mercedez benz!!), and my back was covered in bruises. there were 5 of us in the car, it was very scary, i was behind the driver seat, and the car ended up on its side, we had to smash a window and climb out, the two girls that were with us were in shock. ...

It will haunt you for a while, but believe me it gets better, quicker than you'd think. I now have no fear of getting in cars! :)

hope you recover soon.
