Lost Welshman
Just Wondering what you think is the best, the XBOX or the PS2. No saying, I prefer the PC/Gamecube/etc and No saying, I dont like consoles. What do you think is the best? In my opinion I think the XBOX is the best, but I own one so Im bound to say that. Most PS2 owners prefer the PS2 and hate the XBOX, All XBOX owners (with sence) think the XBOX is a hell of a lot better. PS2 owners say that the PS2 games are better, you only have to watch someone playing Splinter Cell to see how wrong they are. So what do you think? Taos
Xbox......I used to own a ps2, I sold that and haven't looked back. There are some great games out now for the system and some amazing ones coming out soon too! Xbox will be the only console you can play Knights of the Old Republic on. Hekx
PS2.. just because.... Microsoft should stay away from consoles. Period. The PC is better than all of the consoles combined I own a PS2, and I rarely even play on it.. makes a good DVD player though.. but I don't see a point of purchasing every single new razzle-dazzle console that comes out. PS2 gets my vote.
Lost Welshman
This is what Im talking about, PS2 owners nearly ALWAYS say Microsoft should keep away from consoles, If you ask me I say they should not make games, but the console is great, and also good for playing dvd's
-s/<itzo-
well i have both systems and love both of them but i made a conlusion that PS2 is better simply because it has better games. but if were thinking about performance wise, XBOX without a doubt. it has better graphics, speed, etc... gamecube on the other hand well......sucks!!! sold that bad boy first week i got it. Bob Gnarly
well i bought a ps2, and love it, its not as bulky as the Xbox and the controlers are nice and easy to handle. also ive always thought that the Xbox is a hard drive that hooks up to your TV and thought ill just stick to PC and Ps2 plus how can you beat Jak & Daxter i mean COME ON! Pisces
X-Box all the way. I don't own either right now but I'll be getting an X-Box in just a few days, next time I'm out to a mall. Good ol' X-Box.
Lost Welshman
I love my Xbox, PS2's are really bad and the games may be good but the ones on the Xbox that have had the effort put in, e.g Halo, Splinter Cell, are really amazing. The Xbox controllers did seem bulky at first but I think they are the most comfortable controllers for any console, the PS2 controllers are too small. And the xbox's hard drive is a good thing, you dont have to buy memory cards, unless you want to transfer data to a friends Xbox.
BCanr2d2
XBOX is the way to go, but many people seem to equate more games equals better system. A system that is out 12-18 months longer than its competitor is bound to have a load more games. Until the new deals for XBOX came in, many of the average Joes were buying the PS2 due to the "Platinum Price" games, buying cheap good games to play on it. Online inbuilt - for those that want it, it'll cost a lot on a PS2 to do so, and it means opening up, or at least removing a cover or two on the PS2 to make it be able to go online. To me, to go online on a PS2 is to almost have to do things that would normally void the warranty. XBOX seems to have the more serious PC style games, whereas Sony, with it's Japanese background has remained with the arcade style games, which give it the larger audience in Japan. That is how I put down the basic difference of the games of the two consoles.
ET Warrior
X-box. It has great games like Morrowind, splinter, cell, Steel Battalion, and Halo. It has a hard-drive, so no worrying about memory cards. Internet ready, no expensive add-on hardware. 4 controller ports already so no extra purchase to play 4 player games. (aside from the extra controllers of course) System link abilities, so you can play with 16 players without the internet. and the controller S is a great controller YEAH XBOX! Dark Warrior
Originally posted by vegietto i think the ps2 is because i heard xboxs will blow up and i like ps2 better Umm..the X-Box will blow up? I've had my X-Box for a while and I've had no explosions in my house. IMO X-Box beats them all. X-Box has the S-Type controller which is the equivalent size of a PS2 controller. X-Box has the greatest games and online capabilities imo. X-Box live is very easy to use and is easy to set up. I just completed Halo on legendary mode and whoever has X-Box and does not have this game must get it asap. It is a must have for anyone. X-Box like said above has a hard drive so it is not essential to have a memory card. IMO X-Box is the best system..period.
Pisces
Okay, I have a question involving the X-box and this seems like an appropiate enough place to ask. Is it already DVD compatible? Or do you have to buy an add-on to make it DVD compatible (if so how much)?

A small infra-red sensor hooks on the controller port and you get a controller. The price? Well I'm not sure. Goto any online store to find out. I live in Canada so I couldn't give u an accurate American price if thats where u live. Oh btw my pick is PS2. I've played both extensively. I just like PS2 because it has way better games, plus the backwords compatibility is a great bonus as well as the dvd player (no damn hook ups). Also the controller is great as well. Sure the XBox has a new one out now, but I still prefer the PS2 one.

A memory card puts you out what 20$$?? Not a big deal considering all the goodies u get, with a PS2. Besides you're gonna have to pay that for the XBOX dvd hook ups (unless you get a bundle but you pay more for that anyways). PS2 doesn't have detailed games? Hmmm I guess you haven't played FFX or GTA:VC.
BlackDove
We shouldn't even go near Metal Gear Solid 2, although that one is on Xbox too I believe, since it is one of THE BEST GAMES ALIVE DERIVED FROM PLAYSTATION!!11oneone111
Lost Welshman
Final Fantasy? I personally think that is the most borning series of games ever, It doesnt deserve the title of RPG, Its Rubbish. As for Metal Gear Solid 2, if thats supposed to be the PS2 No.1 game then the rest of the games must be crap, The company have seen sence, by chosing to release it on the xbox aswell but it is not a scratch on Splinter Cell (The Best Game Ever). And this 'Hook Up' as you call it is worth the price. Think how much it costs for a Dvd player!!!, and all you have to do is put a little device into any of the controller ports and then use the remote that you get with the Dvd plug in and away you go (as long as you have a dvd to play on it). Xbox Live is gonna be great, but I cant get it at the moment because of stupid BT Broadband not grhsm *grumbles to self*. The Xbox is alot better, especially if you like Pc's, and you only like the PS2 controller because you used to like the PS1, I hate the PS2 and 1 controllers, and if you dont like the xbox controller then you can get a smaller controller. AND!!! the new games that are going to be released will kick a$$ compared to the rubbish PS2 games. I rest my case, Xbox is the best console ever. (Exept for the sega master system 2.....) Tyrion
1. My young padawan,Lost Welshman, you WILL say that the Final Fantasy Series are the best ever. Heh.Heh.Hehe. 2. PC is the best of them all. Why need a new system for games? I can upgrade it to fit the needs(almost every birthday and christmas it get's better). 3. Morrowind and Plungins. 'Nuff said. 4. Wait wait wait, why pay an extra 20 or so a month to play online, when I can do it for free(excluding the internet, but the online feature also needs it,so they cancel themselves out in a sense:D
Mex
I think the X-Box is better. Because. You dont have to pay for a memory card, you have one when you buy it. The new S controller pad, very good. The games, most of them cant even be ported to the PS2 because it is too powerful for it. And the DVD, PS2 has a really low quality one, and I bet most of you will say "But you have to pay for addons to see it" hah, you only have to buy an official X-Box remote and it only costs £20.00. I rest my case.
Rogue15
the xbox is better. faster load times, and you don't need a ****ing memory card.
Clemme w/Stick
How can I put it?! Game Cube 0wnz both the Xbox and PS2!! I own both a PS2 and a Gamecube, and I rarely use the PS2. The GC however has become precious to me ! Y? I'll tell ya y! Cuz Nintendo 0wnz ya'll !! -Clemme
Mex
I have a Gamecube, and I do not really like it, you can only save about 4 games on the Gamecubes memory card until it fills up. And I think the games are a bit childish, you might talk about "Resident evil" and "Eternal Darkness" I have seen them and I think that they are just made up by some guy with an not alot of imagination. Clemme w/Stick
Some of the games maybe. I dont play those games though! Right now, I'm playing Madden NFL 2003, and I'm looking forward to playing The Clone Wars. And when the time comes, it'll change into JK2, Bounty Hunter and KotOR!! Well, I'm looking forward to the last three mentioned games! -Clemme
