But seriously.... WHY would they do such a thing? They should leave it up to Sport's Illustrated and Maxim... :D

Forget that, what about the Anna Nicole Smith Show?

If it really is the end of the world, I say we build a fire, sing songs and make s'mores. I'll provide the beer.

They must have ran out of hidden tribes in Africa and South America, so now they just have to pay for the T&A shots like everyone else.

I think those tribes were paid too, but that's just my theory.

Ten Million Dollar question....

Its supposed to be about Swimsuits....American culture

Where are my naked shots of buff men???

Let me guess...they only shot women.... uh huh...i c how it is.

Boy I could really use ten million dollars! :D

I'm gonna take a stab at this.

I would say that if this is an art issue. In art the female body is consdidered to be the most beautiful human form due to the ammount of curves and various complimenting shapes on a female as opposed to that of the male.

However...

If this is a marketing issue, a preliminary poll would have been made, or some sort of test run. Odds are that in San Francisco, CA and Key West FL, the male edition sold well, while female edditions would sell better world wide. Then it would be a situation of "winner takes all" . That's only my hypothesis mind you. :p

it is supposed to be about history...not babes. If they want to show our culture than they need to show both sexes. Showing just the girls pisses me off because that only shows how sexist these Geographic people are.

Well, we shouldn't be too quick to judge them off as sexist, Shan. After all, they did say they intended it to be a bit of lighthearted fun. And they never said only women. They said they were going to trace the history of bathing suits that people have worn throughout the years.

Then again, I could be wrong. But I don't like to judge things until I see them.

I do sympathize with your plite STTCT, however if this is indeed the history of swimsuits, the most dramatical changes would have been with the women. Over the years guys have had two choices to nudity. Boxors, or breifs. I choose boxors, but many ladies may like more flesh. All BS aside, you dont have too many choices do ya? :p

Warning! This post does not support the new National Geographic Swimsuit Issue!
