Gambit also has slightly enhanced agility and speed. Brief Bio: Growing up alone in New Orleans as a pickpocket, Gambit's red eyes always set him apart. A thief and a ladies man, Gambit joined the X-MEN after rescuing Storm from the Shadow King. Gambit and Rogue have always had an on/off relationship, because of the barrier of her powers. They did manage to get it on once though, when a villain removed their powers temporarily whilst holding them prisoner below Antarctica. Wacky Plot line: Unbeknownst to the X-MEN for some time, Gambit once worked for their enemy Sinister. He used his skills as a master thief to infiltrate a group of ugly mutants known as the Morlocks who were living in the sewers under New York. When Sinister sent his Marauders to slaughter the group Gambit tried to stop the killings but was injured by Sabretooth. He managed to save one little girl, who grew up to become Marrow. He kept this secret from the X-MEN for some time, until Magneto forced him to confess to his teammates for the injustices he had perpetrated on his fellow Homosuperior. Logan also has three claws protruding from each hand, these claws are part of his skeletal strucure and were coated with Adamantium during his abduction by the Weapon X Project. Wolverine also has enhanced senses of smell and hearing. Breif Bio: Logan's past is twisted and detailed. He has been an operative for the CIA, a samurai in Japan and fought in many wars. Sometime before he joined the X-MEN he was abducted into the Weapon X Project, a secretive branch of the Canadian Government that experimented on mutants with the aim of producing super soldiers. They laced Logan's bones [including his claws] with an alloy known as Adamantium, the strongest metal known to man. Since joining the X-MEN, Logan has ruffled the feathers of many of his teammates, most noteably Cyclops and Angel. Wolverine and Jean Grey [Cyclops' wife] have some kind of unspoken love thing going on, which causes further tension between Logan and Cyclops. Wacky Plotline: Wolverine once had his adamantium ripped out by the villain Magneto, he barely survived and started reverting to a more beastial state. Then along came Genesis [that's Cable's evil son, not the band] who tried to give Wolverine back his metal so he could serve as a horseman to Genesis' master Apocalypse. Unfortunately, the process was interupted and instead of having his Adamantium returned Wolverine turned into a beastlike creature with no nose and ****loads of hair. Wolverine slowly reverted back to his human form over a couple of months, after which Apocalypse kidnapped him, returned his adamantium, brainwashed him and sent him to fight the X-MEN as his horseman of death, of course with the help of his teammates he broke free of Apocalypse' brainwashing. This allows him to read and control other people minds, to erase memories, create mental illusions and to project himself into the astral plane amongst other things. Brief Bio: After Charles' Nuclear physicist father was killed in an accident at work [OHS!], his mother married Kurt Marko, who beat her and his own son Cain Marko [later to become Juggernaut]. Charles joined the army with his brother and served in Korea and Israel. Whilst in Israel Charles met Erik Lensherr, who would later become Magneto. The two became friends. After traveling back to America, Charles formed the x-men. In their first ever mission, the x-men faced off with Magneto, who would remain their most persistant adversary for years to come. Wacky Plot line: After Magneto ripped out Wolverine's adamantium skeleton, Xavier snapped and wiped Magneto's mind clean. Unbeknownst to him at the time, a bit of Magneto's mind slipped into his subconscious, and combined with Xavier's fears and pent up anger, became the villain Onslaught. Onslaught ended up almost wiping the planet clean, but was stopped by the Avengers and Fantastic Four, who lost their lives [but came back a year later of course]. As a wealthy socialite, alcohol had been a constant part of his life. When his company, which had changed its name from Stark Industries to Stark international, was threatened with the takeover at the same time he was experiencing oppressive personal problems, Stark began to abuse out all. Although he managed to recover quickly from his first serious bout, the compulsion to drink remained a constant temptation. The second time he succumbed to alcoholism, the to even more devastating personal problems than the first time, Tony Stark went out on a several month binge during which he was cheated out of Stark international, he lost all the armor except one suit (the rest were destroyed), lost the leases on his various departments, and had his personal assets frozen so that he could not touch his fortune. er.. Once he starts moving it is close to impossible to stop him. Whilst wearing his helmet, he is also impervious to mental attacks. He can survive indefinitely without food, water or oxygen. This is one beefy mafaka. Brief Bio: The step-brother of Charles Xavier, Cain grew up envying his brother. His own father favoured Charles and secretly beat him. Whilst serving in Korea in the same unit, Cain stumbled into a mystical temple and found a the crimson gem of cyttorak which granted him his powers. The temple collapsed, Charles escaped and believed his step-brother to be dead. A few years later Cain returned as Juggernaut and attacked the x-men. They remained as enemies for many years, until recently when the x-men rescued Juggernaut from his insane partner in crime Black Tom. At this time Juggernaut is living the mansion, serving with the x-men as he sees fit. Wacky Plot line: Whilst in Canada. Juggernaut once discovered that the villain Onslaught was secretly his brother. Onslaught punched him so hard, that he landed in New Jersey. Yes, I got my favorite character! He leaves behind smoke and the smell of burning brimstone, actually atmosphere from the unknown dimension through which he travels. Nightcrawler is also amazingly agile and uses his prehensile tail as a fifth limb. The dark colour of his fur allows him the ability to blend into deep shadows. Kurt is also an accomplished swordsman. Breif Bio: Due to his demonic appearance Nightcrawler was abandonded by his mother at an early age as she was chased by a lynch mob. He grew up performing stunts in a circus until Professor X asked him to join the X-MEN. Always good for a laugh, Kurt has been with the X-MEN on and off since then. At one stage he left the X-MEN to lead the English team of mutants known as Excalibur. Wacky Plotline: It turns out that Mystique is in fact Nightcrawler's mother, which makes sense because they look very similar.
