The_One
This may have already been posted, but I haven't been looking in these forums much recently. Anyway, let's cut to the chase: http://www.visupoint.com/files/e3-doom3trx1_qt.zip Latest version of QuickTime is required to play. Easily the most amazing looking game I've ever seen. Rarely does my mouth open so wide when watching a trailer
StormHammer
Thanks for the heads up. I tried d/l a trailer from Gamespot earlier...but I think their site's getting hammered, because it kept crashing all over the place. It looks like this is going to take an hour and a half to grab on my lousy 56k connection....
Agen
Luckily for me it will only take 7 minutes :/ I'm looking forward to seeing if this is really all that 1 says
leXX
You can also see it during the xbox E3 press briefing video. Definately worth checking it out to see all the great videos from the upcoming games. It's streaming, so it shouldn't be too bad for slower connections.

Phizzle
As long as there they don't get up when their face is completely covered in bullet holes with absolutely no way to survive is fixed, I'll be happy. (I can run it )
StormHammer
Hmm...a very nice video....now I've finally been able to watch it. I still think the game's over-hyped. The graphics are excellent...but I'm still concerned about the gameplay...and replayability.
Mex
That was awesome.... Shame my pc won't be able to run it.
•-BLaCKouT-•
Oh. My. Word. Of course there's no way on God's clean earth that my computer will run that. The re-playability factor doesn't bother me too much, as long as there's MP on it. There will be MP won't there? I must upgrade my machine. I must upgrade my machine. I must upgrade my machine. I must upgrade my machine... B.
C'jais
Damn. Anyone have some paper towels left yet? While the lighting was out of this world, the shooting animations were severely lacking. You couldn't see the monsters getting hit, and there was next to no gore at all. But bloody hell man, Halflife2's graphics engine can take a flying f*ck at a rolling doughnut after being compared to this.
Guest Jed
*hands Cjais some paper towels after taking a sizeable chunk for himself* Wowsas, that was good. Still, HL2 seems to spark more curiosity to me.
ckcsaber
Word. I really can't wait for Half-Life 2, and I don't really care that it's biggest contender, Doom 3, has a better graphics engine than it. It's all about the gameplay and story for me.
Clemme w/Stick
Yea, this game looks pretty nice. I just have a bad feeling that the game, may be more eyecandy, and thats a shame. I've never been a fan of the doom games, but if the gameplay match the graphics, then I'm certainly gonna get this game. -Clemme

Agreed, as much as I loved the Doom series, I'll be damned if I go and buy a new pc just to play a video game. And what is up with this peer to peer crap I keep hearing? How could that make a shooter fun?
Acrylic
w00t! Awesome! I never really liked Doom much to tell you the truth....I only have one reason. The graphics gave me MAJOR headaches. Very major, like migranes. Oh well though. This looks awesome. More realistic than any game I've seen before. I cannot wait. Any release date? Lost Welshman
It looks amazing yeah, It will probably be really fun gameplay aswell, with awsome atmosphere... but.... I don't think the storyline will be as gripping as Half-life 2, so I'm not really that excited about it. Jedi Knight 1 gave me headaches when I re-installed it last month Ah well..... Doom 3 does look cool though, I can't wait to get Half-life 2, Doom III, JK3, Halo 2, Full Throttle 2 OMG IM GONNA EXPLODE!
The_One
I think though, because the engine is so advanced, it opens new gameplay elements. Like in the trailer you don't get the regular "guy at the end of the corridor" - instead you get enemies popping up out of grates on the ground and aliens crawling around all over the place. Either way, whether it's a good or bad game, the engine will certainly stand the test of time, and I'm sure we'll see plenty of games for years to come utilising this brilliant engine Just think of JK3 - here's to hoping it's made, and if it is for it to be on that engine Also guys I don't think the system requirements will be as high as you think - I have seen some benchmarks and it looks good for such a top notch engine. Remember when Quake 3 first came out? Most of us were pumping about 25fps out of it, the same will probably be true of Doom 3, but I'm certainly looking forward to it. It'll probably scare the pants off me
