When the moon turns into BLOOD

Hey guys! Tonights the night, in case you didn't know, that the Moon shall be Eclipsed!!!!

It's the first time it's happened since 1999, and I'm standing by with my digital camera to take snapshots! I'll post them when it happens. Right now, the moon is just one big, huge, blob.

It will change, though, and be guarenteed, I will watch it in admiration with my camera!

So uh, anyone else excited about this, or am I the only dork here?

I have one pic already of it starting, but the darn clouds came in and covered it up!

Hopefully, they'll blow away in the next few minutes.

All right guys, the clouds ruined pretty much everything I had planned, but I managed to take these last two snapshots. They aren't that great, but it is still a wonder to look at. :)

Hey, nice pictures, Obi-Wan! No, really, I agree with Darth Groovy... those ARE good shots.

The last time I got all worked up about something like this was the total eclipse of the sun, way back in (I can't remember, hang on...) I don't know when. But here in England, everyone used it as an excuse to party and listen to loud music. I think that's about the time my hearing went... pardon?

Well done Obi-Wan. And you are NOT a dork... you are Professor Xavier.

Thanks for the support, guys! I wish the clouds weren't soerratic, but they were. I wanted to get an awesome shot of the red moon, but the clouds didn't permit me to. :(

Oh well, mother nature is still interesting!

@Bcan: Revelations is where I got the name for the thread :p

@Groovy: Thanks for the kind words!

@Die Another Die: I don't know about the sun thing, but I wish I could've seen it!

@STTCT: haha. not my flashlight, it was the moon. Really. :p

Man, was I ticked off! Dallas was covered in a blanket of clouds and we couldn't see anything!

Well, maybe I'll catch the one in November.

I did see the partial Solar Eclipse last year (Feb 2002?)... but I still have difficulty focusing on objects up close :p Guess I wasn't supposed to look too long.

(Actually, I held a piece of paper up against the side of my van and used a hole in it to focus the image on the vehicle's flat side.... )

I ment to take pictures of it too but I only got to see the moon in a yellow-ish hue.

Guess there isnt enough polution up here in Canada for us to see it go red. Only US residents got to witness the moon bleed.

jk :p

If the pictures I took are nice, I'll scan them after I get them back from the film develloper and then afterwards upload them to my web site for all of you to see.

In the mean time, I found this picture by someone else:
