Darklighter
I dunno how it could've happened:(Is there any chance he could use System Restore to restore all programs and system configurations to a previous date? Could help. Otherwise, he might have to reinstall XP. I have no idea, I'm not good with these things:(
Darth Eggplant
It could be the Kemel worm out there. best to shut down turn off, go away and try restarting, if nothing, then reinstall windows, AND I might add, peoepl I know who design desktop themes says XP has or gives a lot of trouble with desktop elements. anyhow hope you work it out Groovster. wish I could offer more help but I am a Neo-Luditte; not Neo himself. Agen
It wasn't me..... honest But i have no idea..... Maybe try safe mode and see what happens. (tap F8 on startup) If you don't see anything in safe mode then.... that's bad. Also when Groovy's in it, when he press ctrl+alt+del.. does it show you everything normal?...... Alternatively a hammer works too

Darth Groovy
Basically, It is like I have no control panel. My taskbar is gone. I have no idea how to fix this. The only way I could get here, was to hit ctrl+alt+delete and then new task. If someone could tell me what area the control panel is located that might be of some use. I looked around the microsoft site, and didn't see anything.

Hes played this game hundreds of times before, and nothing has ever happened. So, my dad got so damned scared. Anyways, We have Norton 2003, we have Spybot Search and Destroy....well, he didnt think that was enough...So, now we have Zone Alarm PRO (You know how...) And we hope this never happens again.... Father Torque
Ummm I think I know what happened. Well to make a long explanation short, he caught a computer virus. Even though its a no brainer, I know of a website that has been teaching people to send mysterious e-mail bombs that can make a comp freeze to erasing every single file and document on a computer. If you can Groovy try going into start then go to help, thenlook in the fix a problem section, then click use system restore, follow the steps and ta-da you know how everything back. Its very rare to catch the virus unless you are disliked by someone at school, in the neighborhood, or even here. Well I hope my info helped and good luck:) Edit: woops didnt see your post groovy:p , well anyway good job. And it could have been a cloggage of memory on your computer which caused it to only project wallpaper? well who cares it fixed now, welcome back
