I might rent it and give it a shot. I've never been too much of a fighting genre fan. I'm more of an action/adventure/flight sim fan. Still, though, handing opponent's heads to them with Link sounds intriguing. Heck, I do it in JO. *runs off to own noobs with downloaded Link model.*

Is it just me, or did they pull off the seemingly-impossible by making him look even more bad-@$$ than he already is?

And Heihachi will have a BIIIIIIG downside. He will be the only person without a weapon.

PS: I saw a screenie in mag a few months ago that showed link just barely miss this guys nards with an arrow. X-Box and GC versions will OWN the PS2 version:p

I have been looking forward to this game for ages now. I love fighting games, Street Fighter 2 and Dead or Alive 3 are my favourites so far, and I have a feeling Soul Calibur 2 will get the high spot after the videos I've seen of it.

I have one gripe though. I don't think they should have put a specific special character for each console, they should have had all the extra characters on all of the consoles. However, I will have the xbox version with Spawn.

im definately looking foreward to it, as i didn't have a dreamcast so i missed out on it the first time round.

My main worry is that my gamecube controller will SUCK for a fighting game. The D-pad is almost useless. I may have to invest in a 3rd party controller or an arcade stick. Not that bothered about the special characters to be honest.

The only thing taking a shine off it is that they just released VF4:Evolution for 1/2 the price and it sounds just as good.... plus includes a remade VF1 for free... almost makes me wish i had a PS2:(

Don't worry about that toms, the previews/reviews I read all said that the gamecube controller worked really well with the game. Also the GCN version runs smoothest of the three consoles and also features progressive scan support and a 16x9 widescreen function.

and Z, it comes out ... TODAY, august 27.

alright, my hint for the gamecube owners that own this game, for linkes flaming spinning attack, just press z to power up and then press a and hold it, links wil take his sword in a new position and hold it all the way out, and he does the flamming lumina.

There is a pretty good reason why they didn't put Link in the X-Box and PS2 versions. Copyrighting. Namco doesn't own Link (though what do I know about who owns LoZ?). They only borrowed with permission the way I see it.

And since Link is a valued character whose sole home was with the Nintendo business, Microsoft and Sony would be sued and have the pants ripped right off of them if Link was in either the PS2 or X-box. :animelol:

There's a penny for your thoughts........:p

Tip: When playing as Sophitia (unlockable only through Weapon Master mode), equip the Owl shield as it can heal you during battle, or so I heard.

Link's best weapons would probably be the Magic Sword, the Megaton Hammer, or the Cane of Byrness ((is that how it's spelled?)). Megaton Hammer increases the amount of damage done to an opponent, while the Cane of Byrness increases your health after using a Soul Charge. Magic Sword makes busting through your enemy's defense a little more easier.

I could be wrong, though. ;)

hint time! hint time! to do yoshimitsu's flaming assasin slash, just press, down forward, virticle attack, link chan charge up his arrow, just push left on the c stick, then pres it again and hold, another hint, as yoshimitsu, get behind your opponents, and press melee attack and horisontle slash, he wil do the sacrificial slash, he will stab himself and the opponent taking off one half of a life bar of damage each, of the weapons we have for link, the best are, the megaton hammer, reflector shield, and the cane thing, final hint: as link, when you do the attack where he jumps up and has his sword pointing down, time it right and he can continue this in mid air for a total of 3 times, still hitting the opponent.

For the 3 special charictors: They put Link on the gamecube with nintendo's permission so nintendo would get some money out of it also, they put Spawn on the x box because Spawn couldn't be on the playstation 2 with his impressivly detailed model, Heihachi on the playstation 2 because sony was the only company that failed to produce a cherictor so they threw in one of their own tekken dudes.

Zbomber, what system do you have, and that goes for all of you so i know for what system i should give out hints for.

That's all for today, see ya tomarrow.

The mirror sheild and the Biggroorn sword are links best weapons IMO

the MS gives 10% of all damage givin to link to the enemy and the BGS does insane amounts of damage and has super long reach but cost energy to use.

The cane is good but you hardly get chances to use the healing and the megaton hammer is a pretty good weapon, better than biggorrron sword in levels that put you against 5 enemys.

The magic swords is pretty good becuase it still hurts blocking enemys but not much.

my 2 cents

I cant tell you about the

Fairy sword and the bug catching net

because I havn't unlocked them.

can anyone who actually has the GC version comment on how the controller works???

I remember when SNK vs Capcom and MK:DA came out all the reviews said the controller sucked. However no-one has really mentioned it this time around. Is this because the controller works for SC2, or just becuase people have become resigned to it?

I love my GC, but i honestly can't see that tiny D-pad working for a fighting game...

Anyone care to comment....

Yeah. That threw me through a loop as well. Unfortunately, it took less than 5 seconds for me to figure what the heck the tutorial was talkin' about.

And well, figures out everybody's ultimate weapon is really the Soul Edge, Complete-type. Beat the extra chapter at the end (although there really is no end to Weapon Master) using Link's version.
