24,99 β¬ would be totally fine for me! As I'll probably buy it for my Mac and the Switch anyway... π

That's exactly what I like about it! Makes him more crazy.

I, too, like it already. Fits very good to his new look. Not so sure what to think of those "Blablas"... Is it supposed to be funny? Doesn't "sound" like LeChuck to me... π

Earl Born would have been great on one hand. But in the end β¦ Iβm not completely sure it would have been the perfect match for this LeChuck. I really love the look this time and can very well imagine a much more frightening voice this time. Boenβs always had much energy, it was very theatrical, almost campy (in a good way!). And although I could listen to him talk forever, I always thought he was a bit too clean, too βnormalβ for the MI2 LeChuck. So I think this could be the chance to give him a really horrifying voice. I think Iβd prefer that to a simple Boen imitationβ¦ but weβll see.

Not so sure of that. I always had the impression that he just wanted to make his βrealβ third entry and thatβs itβ¦

With the pirate leaders we already have a lot of familiar faces now - and (if I haven't forgotten some) more than in any other game. Besides Guybrush, LeChuck, Elaine, the Voodoo Lady and Stan (who appear in every game), ReMI already has: the Lookout, the old Pirate Leaders, Carla, Otis, Murray, some Scumm-Bar people (the cook, Cobb), Wally and Herman Toothrot. For comparison: MI2: Men of low moral fiber, Herman Toothrot CMI: Wally EMI: Carla, Otis, Meathook, Murray TMI: Murray On one hand I'm happy to meet all those people again, on the other hand that's really a lot. I hope that many, many new characters will appear to balance that out. Other than that, I really like new clip (especially the music)! It has, like almost everything so far, a beautifully melancholic mood, including Guybrush's expressions. π₯°

Best henchperson, because we havenβt voted in literal years

I always found Largo to be nothing but annoying and somehow incompetent. He served his purpose for the story, but otherwise... Unpopular opinion maybe? π -
I totally loved and still love the island hopping. Sure, it feels less big in total. But the game mechanic is so great, as @KestrelPisaid. I really like the islands in MI1 and 2. But I have to say, that the islands feel even more real in CMI. Almost all locations feel connected to another like in no other game of the series, as you can always see at least one other locations in the background. This way it always feels like you walk from one screen directly to the next one β so great! π₯°

I also played CMI first. And I think for people new to MI today, CMI still is a very good, maybe the best, first game to get into the series (maybe an unpopular opinion?). Like @BaronGrackle I felt like I was in the same boat as Guybrush at the beginning. A great new adventure starts, with a mystery from the past β of which be both donβt know much about (anymore). If you look at it, CMI is kind of a soft reboot: It feels like a complete new story, which is funny, given the open ending of MI2. But it brings you into this world so smooth and elegantly that you never feel lost β even when you come across characters or events from 1 and 2. And on top of that, itβs just a really great game! One negative thing I only felt at my last replay is, that many of the dialogues are just not thaaat interesting or funny (not bad, but not amazing either). Most of them are a too long and too often I found myself skipping them, because I just didnβt care. There are highlights of course (e. g. Griswold Goodsoup) and often the voice over saves it for me, but in the end I enjoyed the dialogues much more in MI1, MI2 or TMI. But of course, the rest of the game is so great, that I donβt mind this thaaat much.

I think we are all happy for every new film youβll do β whatever the game/subject or time. π SPOILER-btw.: Did you try to get Norman Matt or was this one your first choice? (To be clear, heβs never a bad choice!) I just replayed CMI in german and had a really fond nostalgic feeling , hearing his Guybrush again after a very long time, as he was my first introduction to MI.

Still amazing and full of great ideas! π Thanks for the extra work. So, next One CMI or Return? π¬

Monkey Island Soundtracks βΒ Album Covers

Monkey Island Soundtracks βΒ Album Covers
BillyCheers replied to BillyCheers's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I think that's a good solution. Some of the pieces certainly work better this way on CD than when they are separated in small parts (also thematically). The track list you created also makes sense to me - and I like LeChuck's theme at the end of the first CD with Jojo. I would also definitely be in favour for a suite of "Woodtick". I had also built it as a suite for my soundtrack, but divided it into separate tracks so that you I can skip directly to one of the versions β but you're still able to listen to the full suite. But of course there mustn't be a pause between tracks then. The suite from the official soundtrack is okaaaay, but I think it really has some poor transitions, e.g. here at 8:48: The version of@Laserschwert is already much better, but still I prefer mine regarding the composition and transitions β but maybe it's just because I listened to mine much too often. Also mine could easily be combined to one big track (not that it really matters for the listening experience). In the end, the is the iMUSE Track und should be perfect. I agree with you here too. And "Kate" and "Stan" are two separate pieces, so I don't know why they were put together here. As for "Kate" I would try to make a nice suite out of it, yes. I would also miss the part without flute and steel drums... True! I like this suite on the OST! It sounds more like a suite than mine, I think... -
Thanks! I really wouldnβt advise to use it without any logo though. A good example are the sails. Some start very sharp at the bottom and get totally blurry suddenly, because of the different picture quality of the material I found. And some of the ropes disappear in midairβ¦π Then in the sky I just put in some clouds of a CMI background as a filler. I think it works quite well, but depending on the use one had to really put more work in this (which I was too lazy at some point, tbh π ). But as I said: with a logo on and for digital use itβs totally fine, I think.
-
When I talk about spoilers, I don't just mean content spoilers that relate to the story or puzzles. But especially when it comes to familiar characters and places, it's nice to find them in the game. Questions like "Where will the Voodoo Lady be this time?", "Will we see Stan again?", "Will the Scummbar be open?", "Can we visit the monkey head again?" etc. are basically already answered. Of course, there will certainly be lots and lots of new things to discover. But I think we've already seen an incredible amount. As I said before, I would have liked to know the title of the first part (as important or unimportant as it is) in the game. I would also find it a great pity, for example, if they posted the intro on the Monkey Island Mondays now. I would like to experience something like that in the game for the first time - and not on Twitter. As I said: I'm happy about everything we see, but I would also be happy to discover the rest now.π€
-
Iβd also prefer a funny video from the recordings, a hint at new (?) gameplay mechanics or the switch controls, maybe a spoiler free interview with Ron & Dave. Things that keep the hype up without spoiling too much (even if that maybe is a bit late now π ).
-
Hey there, as far as I know, there's no logo free version of the MI2:SE cover. I did some crude compositing for my soundtrack cover with the material I had. It's very far from perfect (som blur here and there etc.) but for me it worked with a logo. Maybe it's enough for you too. null

The Music sounds great. It really has that CMI/EMI vibe. π canβt wait for more location music!

I'm always a bit torn apart. On one hand, I'm happy about every detail that we get (and really like everything so far!), but on the other hand I fear to have too little surprise in the end . The trailer has already shown us so much! E. g island overviews or something like that would be a bit too much to me, I think (even the name of the first part kind of is). I could of course avoid this thread and further postings, but... okay, let's be honest: I couldn't. π₯²
