  1. I compiled the chicken sound effects (that I could be bothered to check):
  2. Yeah the sounds are weird. I had a listen... It is a cluck or weird spring sort of noise in most versions, but the Amiga specifically has more of a duck honking sound (not really a quack). I’m also informed that the audio effect refers to a duck sound but is mapped to a cluck event. It’s possible that akin to how the Special Edition developers pulled out and recorded all dialogue lines, they simply pulled out the sound effect names for the Amiga port and put what they expected they should sound like in. I also noticed a weird anomaly with the CD versions. On Sega it uses a proper-sounding cluck effect, but on PC the same sound is weirdly slowed down and sounds unnatural. Perhaps to enhance the ghost effect. 🤷‍♂️
  3. I do not distinguish. Chickens can function without a head anyway. Apparently.
  4. It’s possible, but Secret is no slouch. Here we have six chickens: A further three here: And the chicken shop could conceivably contain an infinite number of chickens but I think we’ve established previously that sort of thing isn’t an acceptable data point: So a total of nine chickens. Sadly I don’t have time to look at the other games just now.
  5. I’d be screwed if I couldn’t connect to the internet to go to that site with all the old code wheels on it.
  6. Ideally there should be no spoilers in titles as that defeats the point of having spoiler and non-spoiler threads. We can edit spoilers if they do appear, but not control what people post in the first place!
  7. Indeed. Did you know that in the demo they referred to the rubber chicken as a DEAD chicken? Implying that in the final game, the rubber chicken we gleefully glide across Meathook’s river with is, in fact, at least a little bit alive.
  8. Man, these rules are just getting more and more insane!
  9. I thought this was meant to be that same pirate leader, but looking more closely I don’t think that’s the case.
  10. It’s not helped by the fact that you absolutely need to increase the dialogue speed in MI1SE (and presumably UT) for it to not sound ridiculously drawn out. The version in Tales is good. I think it’s the same guy in the ReMI GamesCom video? Escape’s was just a bit too on the nose as a Jim Carrey soundalike although it is admittedly appropriate. If they’d dialled it back a bit, perfection.
  11. Damn, can’t I buy three copies on Steam?! That’s how much I usually pay for crap like ‘Assassin’s Creed’ and ‘clothes for my child’ anyway.
  12. Wot?! Buy it on Steam then buy it on GoG. Switch too — even if you don’t have one!
  13. Man, our guesses were spot on. …mostly…
  14. And don’t forget that several dimensions are intersecting exactly where Melee town sits.
  15. I turned on YouTube’s 2x speed playback for the full experience. 😂
  16. “What did I ever do to you?” ”Will you promise not to hurt me?” Poor Bob, man…
  17. I wouldn’t call it great but I think trying to escape the garage via Salvador would qualify as one. Also setting the correct answer machine message is indirectly a dialogue puzzle.
  18. It does not. It doesn’t seem likely any version based on the VGA art does. I’m guessing it was just part of the background and somehow got overlooked during the redraw.
  19. Yeah not keen on the Melee treatments there, but I absolutely love Blood Island and Puerto Pollo! We get the briefest of glimpses of a nighttime Puerto Pollo during the CMI intro: I saw this a while ago, which is a take on Melee during the day that I find more appealing:
  20. Doesn’t look like it, unless it’s in the other Amiga version. EGA: Amiga:
