well with the ending of revolutions it has certainly left it open for more matrix films. the matrix has been reset and though war has ended, peace is a fragile thing.

there will be another 'One' will there be another film?

what do you think?

do you want more films?

yeah, as soon as i heard about the MMORPG being set at the end of revolutions i knew the 'end' wouldn't be the 'end'

and half of me was glad cause i would like to see it live on. of course the other half wanted a spectacular finale that meant the end of the machines.

i think the wachowskis will probably make some non-matrix films.. probably more about lesbians or something :p

then in a few years maybe think about doing more matrix films.

I think the franchise should be laid to rest. three movies and an anime is enough. no books, no comics, no spin offs. truthfully as I stated elsewhere I don't think peeps (not all peeps) are going to really like Reloaded or Revolutions. both films contained stuff in them, well entertaining, IMO served little or no purpose except eye candy, and fill in psycho babble dialogue. for instance the Merillvinchian. true he seemed cool and said some cool stuff, but really he was a waste of screen time. especially in Revolutions. I mean since this is a spoiler thread, peace happens and all but he is still out there. if Smith was a problematic program for the machines, then this frenchman certainly would be.

and I mean in Revolutions the S&M bar he is in? whats up with that? anyhow he and wife Persephone, (who got a poster IMO) undeservedly really had little to do with the story line. the keymaker could have been worked in better, and all his three ships, at 12 blah blah blah could have been handled better. and then another two who didn't deserve a poster were the twins, cool they were on screen but they were not in it this time. Link as the new operator should have gotten his own poster for Reloaded. or his wife Z, or the kid that hero worshipped Neo, or the councilor from ZIon, a lot of actors could or should have gotten a poster if the twins and persephone rated one.

another thing, and I am unsure on this, did the woman who played the Oracle die? or did she want to much money? that whole new Oracle thing sucked. I mean the woman who did the Oracle in the first two nailed the part so well, that this new Oracle really wasn't worth watch or listening to IMO. if I had started out with her maybe, but not now.

and Seriph was cool, and I felt sorry for Ghost, they go looking for Niobe and Ghost, they make the comment that he is the best gunner, then the guy gets no dialogue. and since I don't have the game, I mean the only time I ever heard from the guy was in a small teaser trailer.

so the new Oracle I found dissapointing

some of the plot was nice eye candy but uneccissary

certain characters did not ever need to be in it

but all in all I still like the matrix.

I will get all three in a box set when they finally release them

but I watch 'The Matrix' all the time. and I like watching 'Reloaded' but not as much, and 'Revolutions'

well of the three films (and since Reloaded and Revolutions) actually comprise one entity. I think A&L Wachowski should have left the matrix as is, and only ever made one film.

I can't see it happening, due to the underwhelming response of the general public to these last 2 sequels (personally, I liked them).

I was a little disapointed with the ending of Revolutions, myself. I hate knowing the fact that Smith was stronger than Neo.

Smith was out of control and destroying the matrix, he was as much an emeny to the machines as the humans were.

the merovingian was just a mafia boss wannabe and didn't really pose a threat to the machines.

Given that I couldn't multi-select 'DK / DC' I took the DC option ...

... I guess there might be, as while there has been a nice downward spiral since the first movie to these two movies and the awful game, they have yet to full crash in the Star Trek sense ...

"With The Matrix Revolutions, the Wachowski brothers have managed to pull off something nearly impossible. They've made a movie about the end of the world that leaves us entirely indifferent to the outcome."

"Reloaded was certainly a lumpy, gaseous treatise of a movie, but viewers of Revolutionsmay find themselves looking back on it fondly."

It doesn't get much simpler than this:

The first Matrix film was superb. Nuff said. The Bros. haven't (and will never) surpass it's brilliance with any sequels no matter how many.

I sat last night actually bored at some parts :(

And the ending just left me with that "meh" feeling. I think I enjoyed the trailer for The Last Samurai more. :p

Needless to say the film visually and imaginatively was great, but it's safe to say that Revolutions is the poorer film from the "trilogy".

Ah well. When's Return of the King out? :p

Meh. Nothing happened in the first Matrix! I can understand why it is considered 't3h b3st', but come on, the first Matrix was so full of loose explanations, no concrete endings, etc.

I think that's why people liked it best. Because it did alot of asking, but answered diddly squat.

The other two films, while certainly filled with scenes that appearend unimportant, or useless, at least attempted to add to where the first started off, as opposed to the ye olde typical "sequel" formula of simply forgetting the first movie ever happened, and introducing even more "oh no, more questions, no answers" crap.

I like the whole thing, because it reads like a book. Like some stories, the beginning rocks, but the ending, because it removes all the previous mysteries, becomes less spectacular. Either way, I felt the Matrix concluded in the most appropriate way possible. I'm not liking this game that's coming out later, but whatever.

Everyone seems to think The Matrix was the best, all it did was offer the question of "Is our existence real?" Other than that, it did little in the way of providing any story at all. IMO it feels like it was done more to challenge the viewer as to why we are here, how we got here, how we live our lives, are the choices we have our own.

Reloaded and Revolutions try to actually answer questions about the Matrix, rather than offer more of the "food for thought of your life" that the first one was. In the end, Revolutions ends the same as the first, the sun comes up, no one knows what has gone on, the world continues to exist despite the turmoil that exists behind it.

As for another One, I think the movie made that "impossible", or now more implausible, at least with this version of the Matrix. Smith and Neo were the opposite sides of an equation, the balance to each other. Once Neo and Smith became ONE, the Matrix anomaly balances itself out...............

What I'd like to see in Anime, is the origin of Smith, since he referred to the Oracle as his mother...

yes but once it was balanced the matrix was reset, hence the equation is restarted and the anomaly will turn up again.

so i think there definitely will be another 'one'

in fact the MMORPG website says there will be. in the FAQ one of the questions is "am i the One?" and the answer is "you'll have to ask the oracle"

as long as the matrix keeps getting reset whenever the One returns to the source the equation starts again.

(see my custom title :D neo was version 6)

this doesn't mean there will be more movies but as long as the matrix exists the possibility is there.

Hence also, that you could also argue that the Matrix, and it's anomaly have finally find a way to balance, so even with the reset, finally the Matrix can be sustained without "reset." That is how the Brothers probably wants these movies to be, people can take from them what they want, the deeper you look, the more questions and answers that can be found.

Remember, the young girl, existed from one Matrix reset to the other. The black cat is there for a programming change, is it definitely a reset, a v7 of the Matrix..... I think maybe a stable v6???

I doubt that though, with the Oracle's quote near the end, talking about how Neo will probably be back....

this is how i understand it

Your life is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the programming of the matrix

the first matrixes the architect built failed because the people plugged in wouldn't accept it. so 'the mother' of the matrix came up with an equation were 99.9% would accept it.

of course this created the anomaly (the one) who has to return to the source so that the matrix is reset and the equation starts again. this is what the previous 5 versions did.

and so did neo, the only different is neo managed to secure a peace between the machines and the humans before he did.

the equation is still there and is still only 99.9% effective, so there has to be another One.
