RpTheHotrod
I have returned. It went well, the 6 grandsons (including me) carried the casket. She arranged her funeral, I found out. What it would look like, and then we all went to eat at a restaurant. Grandma left some money so the after-funeral meal could be "on her". Then we were sitting around looking at old family photos, going down memory lane...and then our aunt brought up a bunch of books for the grandsons. My grandmother wrote poems, and these books had her lifes poems in them, and each book had a check for $1000 in them, from Grandma. Man...really was hard for us all. Here's one of her poems. "To Our Heroes" God bless you, our American hero! Our flag flies across our lands. Our hearts and prayers are with you As you fight in foreign desert sands. Yell ribbons are one sign of welcome They're everywhere here to let you know We pray peace comes to all nations May our heroes never again have to go. Right now our skies are dark and gloomy In the sky a rainbow will soon appear. The sun will shine again on America When our heroes come marching back here. Our hearts and homes are empty without you You're missed much more than you know. Soon you'll be in the arms of loved ones God be with you, where ever you go.
