Weird thing...

Recommended Posts

You know, I find this quite strange.

I don't think there's any other place I can post this.

These boards seem kind of dead.

You see, the Battlefront boards already has more people visiting it yet there hasn't been much more revealed about SWBF then about KotOR2.

It just seems weird that this game which has a fan base already doesn't get as many poster as another one who is virtually unknown(the fact that it "looks" like BF1942 shouldn't be such a factor).

I mean, this game is the sequel to one of the most popular game of 2003 and yet there it seems like less people are thrilled about it.

Just my two cents...

thats not entirely true, BF has trailers & lots of screenshots, not to mention the many magazine previews. whereas kotor II just has a couple of screenshots so far.

plus, BF is due out september and kotor II isn't out until febm so its only natural that people are more excited about BF. i'm sure nearer to the time of kotor II everyone will be buzzing.

i know i will be. :D

When there is an official information release and an actual site created at Lucasarts.com people will get more excited about KOTOR2.

But for now SWBF does look great and seems like an entirely new game.

I see now why Lucasarts wouldn't let Bioware release any Mod tools. Could you imagine how embarrasing it would be if fans put together a better sequel than the company they chose.

All Obsidian is really doing is tweaking the graphics(and frame rate), adding new story and animations. That sounds like what Fan mods do when there are tools available.

Well, I think that at the time SWBF had the same amount of material out about it then KotOR2 right now, more people were posting. Eh well...

It's about quality not quantity. I feel that the regular members we have that come here are some of the best in the entire LFNetwork. We seemingly have a much more "mature" group of posters. We don't have [or want] a bunch of "1337 dudes" going 0mg 000101010101010101010. [sorry, I can't stand that garbage.] I'm not saying that's what is causing the high post numbers at swbf, but any forum with high post counts seems to have a lot spam in it [just look at Jk.net]. So swbf can have the numbers, I'm happy with the fairly civilized discussions we have here. ;)

That's a very good point Leemu. I suppose RPG's attract more "mature" players then shooters(not mature, age wise but you know, in their head).

Maybe I posted this because I felt this place to have little closeness. I'm from GB.com and people have kept posting over there for so long that it kind of develops some good relationship. I just don't feel it here somehow...but that's perhaps me being left out...:( oh well...

I fully agree with this statement. Thats half the reason I won't post at, much less go to the JK forums anymore. It's ridiculous, the rate a simple conversation turns into a flame war about who's the bigger "1337 n00b" (I can't stand that trash either). I much prefer this place, where peoples opinons are actually welcomed & oposing views aren't shunned the way they are there. BF's closer to ship & comes with a MP componet, so it's reasonable that board will have more traffic. Give it time, I "foresee" this place will liven up come Oct./Nov. :emperor:

I think you'll also find that because bf will be released on almost every format that it gets more press coverage via the magazines where as kotor2 will most probably only be on xbox and pc formats limiting the number of magazines that it can have press coverage in, that said i cant wait for kotor2 to be released

I'm with Crowy (see... I'm too lazy to make my own post (just leeching off of someone else's ;))) My two most anticipated games of the year are KotOR:TSL and The Sims 2.

@kome566

How is it obvious? I love the JK series, but I LOVE KotOR and it is only SP, where as JK had MP.

You just said that there won't be any "elite newbies" because they cannot "hack" (aimbots, shoot through walls, god mode, etc.) the MP mode of the game (because there will be no MP mode). (How are they "elite" if all they do is cheat (or is that the definition of "elite newbies?" (rhetorical)).) :)
