Well, "p" is next to "o" on the keyboard. So just as "teh" has become a humorously intentional mis-spelling of "the", "pwned" has become a humorously intentionaly mis-spelling of "owned" and has the same connotations re: leetspeakers and newbies.

Your right. People just started to put p instead of o and they spelt pwned.

One person starts using it, and if it's cool it will spread. Similiar how "warez" got started, the Z made it kewl. 'kewl', another word..or werd...

Of course, there's the old classic of mis-spelling words that defy all the rules of the language(even though the language does anyway)
