Mike Windu Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 So... what's your favorite fan film? Mine would have to be: 1. Art of the Saber (simple, but very effective with grand action sequences) 2. Grayson (Holy crap... what an awesome fan trailer) 3. Troops (best SW comedy... evar! ) Post away!
Leper Messiah Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 edit: oooops my apologies didnt read properly *shamed* i dont watch fan films, any reccomendations for starting with?
Shok_Tinoktin Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 I havent seen many, but I would have to go with Troops.

All 3 of those ^_^ Grayson isn't really a film. Just a 5 minute teaser for a film that doesn't really exist. hi pinky:p
Sam Fisher Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Yea, AOTS was one of the best, second to Troops ^^ Also, How the Sith Stole Christmas is pretty funny And PA Wars (1 & 2) is pretty funny also. Oh, and the Ratrix is a good spoof
Astrotoy7 Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 I have a great collection of SW/Trek fanfilms on DVD my fave SW ones are 1. Knightquest....easily the most awesome fanfilm ever...IMO 2. Duality (a close second, no pun intended) 3. prolly troops, or Bounty Hunter(croc hunter spoof), or Pink 5 mtfbwya
Shok_Tinoktin Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Ah yes! Bounty Hunter, I forgot about that one. It was also very good.
jon_hill987 Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Originally posted by Mike Windu Art of the Saber (simple, but very effective with grand action sequences) Kicks ass, Almost on par with the fights in the films.
Sam Fisher Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 I still think its funny how if you look closely at AotS, you will notice a lot of JA saber moves, like the strong style Kata, and almost a two saber Kata, as well as others
jon_hill987 Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 yeah, and the saberstaff taunt. where it's rolled behind the neck.
Sam Fisher Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Yep, I noticed that also.... I wonder if that was on purpose?
edlib Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Duality Troops Tie-Tanic (if you haven't seen this one try to find it, it's a riot!) Star Wars Gangsta Rap Thumb Wars Edit: Here's a link to the Tie-Tanic film, but I haven't tried it to see if it actually works yet. http://www.completelydifferent.co.uk/download.asp?file=/videofiles/Tie-tanic.zip If that doesn't work, go to the parent site: http://www.completelydifferent.co.uk/videos/
Mike Windu Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 Originally posted by Sam Fisher Yep, I noticed that also.... I wonder if that was on purpose? If I recall correctly, this film was shot before JA came out...? Those aren't any new moves anyway... very typical martial arts stance as far as I know..
Neverhoodian Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 It's funny that this thread should pop up at this particular time. I've started watching Star Wars fan films (many of them for the first time) these past few days. I haven't seen that many, but here are some of the favorites that I have seen: 1. Duality (kick@ss saber fighting!) 2. TROOPS 3. Broken Allegiance (particularly the spaceship chase at the beginning) 4. Star Wars Gangsta Rap (new version) 5. How the Sith Stole Christmas
Mike Windu Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 I've been doing the same... just started checking out fanfilms a few days ago to whet my appetite for action. List of films: Art of the Saber Greyson World's Finest Troops Contract of Evil A Question of Faith
Astrotoy7 Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Originally posted by TK-8252 TROOPS! You'd expect that from me. what about stormtrooper bob yeah, troops was coolage for its day mtfbwya
CapNColostomy Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 I can't recall the name, but I liked this one I watched a while back with Batman vs Joker vs Alien vs Predator. That was alright.
Darth Groovy Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 The Star Wars Gangsta Rap, Special Edition
Sam Fisher Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Hehe, SW GRSE was funny solely for the rapping movements IMO EDIT: and Groovy! You're using the pic I made for you!
TK-8252 Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 /Revive Tydirium. It's not done yet, but there's a couple trailers for it. It's the story of how the Rebels stole Shuttle Tydirium, which was never revealed in the movies. http://www.tydirium.tv/english/index.php The costumes and props are really good.
Taos Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 Duality Fallen Fallen received the LucasFiles.com award for "Best Fan Film" and a few others as well. It is just oustanding work. But those are my favorites.
kipperthefrog Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 I liked episode 1 prelude at atomfilms.com
acdcfanbill Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 i have hardware wars on vhs somewhere around here...
