IG-64
I recently got Firefox, and so far I see no diffrence whatsoever to IE except now there are a few nit-piky problems that might just get on my nerves enough to switch back. Enter you, a person who cringes at the thought of IE and celebrates the very mention of Firefox. Problem one: The LF post message field is cut in half. Problem two: My clan's forum page looks weird. Problem Three: The ads on the sides of the pages now strangely have doubles under them that you scroll to see, taking up scrolling time (if you can tell me how to fix, thats fine, but i'd rather the ads just not be there at all) Picture Now, I have 2 things for you to do. First, tell me how to fix these problems. Second, impress me. I need a good reason to stay with Firefox, otherwise i'll just save myself the trouble and keep with the IE i've had for the past 5 years.
El Sitherino
You need adblock. and I dunno wtf is wrong with your post message field I don't have that problem the second problem is probably because your clans site is using xhtml. Browse the extensions page. Reasons to keep firefox. You're less likely to get a virus. Tabbed browsing . Good support and help staff. Not to mention the extensions are constantly updated, easy to manage.

It contains its own download manager 2. you can open an entire folder of favorites into tabs on 1 page instead of having 10 vlogging up the taskbar. 3. ITS NOT MICROSOFT 4. Rogue Nine
You do have the latest version of Firefox, right? Because the only problem I have in common with you is the post message field and even that doesn't bother me so much, especially considering the benefits Firefox gives you. Here 's a site that pretty much outlines all the pretty thingamabobs and doodads that Firefox offers. Likewise, here's a site that shows you what's wrong with IE. Firefox does require a bit of work on your part with regards to downloading extensions and customizing it, but it does pay off in the end, especially if you can tweak it to load pages faster and other things to your liking. And did we mention that it's so much more secure and so much less vulnerable to virii than IE is? Ever since I've been using Firefox instead of IE, my computer has had one virus. One. And that was from when I had to use IE to open a website that was obviously constructed with IE in mind because it was rife with bugs and the like. Ultimately, it's your decision to make, but I pray you make the right one. Firefox makes the web a better place.
GothiX
Your last 2 points hold no argument. [directed at Nalukai, Niner is an evil insta-poster] IG; IE is much less effective when it comes to using bandwidth effectively, Firefox opens sites much faster, differences up to several seconds on simple HTML sites. And hey, time is money.

I'm on the internet 24/7 (sadly) so I guess i'll take everyone's word for it and stick with Firefox.

ET Warrior
My favorite thing in firefox is opening links in a new tab by clicking on them with the mouse wheel and closing tabs the same way But firefox reduces the post field for LF for me too, but I'm so used to it now I don't even notice. TiE23
Firefox is better because its faster, tabbed browsing, and pop-up and virus blocking. Thats good enough for me. TiE
PR-0927
Dude, it isn't even funny trying to pull a stunt like that!! Switching from Firefox back to Internet Explorer...yuck!! The other day during break I went to my friend's house for dinner (family friends as well). I told my friend to get Firefox, but he said that he had some anti-virus stuff, and that he didn't need it. That was a mistake. His Dad called yesterday telling my Dad about some virus that has taken over their computer, it is called E-block or something. It wants their credit card number...not good! He should have listened to me!!

The more people who use Firefox, the more attention Firefox draws to hackers and script kiddies. So don't feel all that bad.

People complain about IE, so we tell ya try firefox. Dont' like it, then you don't like it. and of course you wont' find a significant difference on 56k. 56k is crap. add some glitter to crap and it's still crap. how significant of a change do you want? it's a browser. What do you think, it'll jump out of the screen and pleasure you while you eat popcorn and drink a soda?
Lynk Former
IE and Firefox both have advantages and disadvantages... it's best to keep both browsers and use both... who gives a crap about which is better, Firefox provides better security but is a lot more strict when it comes to html than IE is. In reality not every site uses valid code which means that not every site will display well on Firefox which is when you resort to using IE because IE isn't as strict as Firefox... you can go geeky about it and argue till the cows come home that it loaded a page 0.354w3543 seconds faster on Firefox but who the hell cares really. GothiX
Link, mixing FF and IE is not a good idea. If you want a more reliable browser for HTML sites, use Opera, but not IE, if you even care the slightest bit about your security. Astrotoy; If you'd get hit by a virus, odds of which are quite good since you're using IE, you might lose your pr0n collection that took you all that long to build up. One simple download and your problems are slved, what more do you want?

I have Opera, Firefox, IE and Netscape 4.81 installed. I have all of them for web development purposes... but I use IE because it's habit. I honestly don't care what browser I use as long as it works.

Then we should make this uber secrect browser where hackers won't be able to crack..... or even know about it in the first place! Or just execute every hacker in the world...... that would work, too. BTW: I used to run AdAware every daybefore I got IE, I would get like, 70 adwares on my comp every day. But with FF, I wouldn't get a adaware for months at a time. ^__^ TiE

That plus running ad-aware and spy sweeper means my pron collection(which i dont really have) is safe....
